(Clearwisdom.net) According to a report from the China Times posted on September 11 regarding the spying incident of the Investigation Bureau's North Division, investigator Li Kaiping was involved in collecting content from Falun Gong special reports and transferring it to a Taiwanese businessman in China. Chen Dingnan, the legal department chief, quickly cited Li Kaiping for two major misconducts and dismissed him from duty. He also sent Li Kaiping to the judicial department as a suspect in revealing secrets unrelated to national security. A plot that endangers the reputation, freedom and safety of 100,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan was stopped in a timely manner. Chief Chen of the legal department has taken appropriate measures to protect the safety of Taiwan and interest of its people. I applaud his efforts.
On July 20, 1999, the Chinese ruling regime launched a large-scale persecution against more than 100 million Falun Gong practitioners in China. Extremely brutal means have been used. Many practitioners were beaten until they were injured, beaten to death, or became disabled. Families were broken apart. These people were deprived of everything in terms of reputation and material possession simply because they practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance!" However, in China, most people are still being deluded by the government's propaganda and do not know the truth about the persecution against Falun Gong.
On the contrary, in the past three years, Falun Gong is flourishing outside of China, and right now people in over 60 countries are practicing it. In Taiwan alone, the number of practitioners went from 10,000 to more than 100,000. Falun Gong teaches people to be good and practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Many practitioners have benefited both physically and mentally, and they voluntarily help more people to practice Falun Gong. Falun Gong does not pursue fame or fortune and it's not involved in politics. Having no form of organization, Falun Gong has spread solely by word of mouth. Facts have proven that Falun Gong has been able to spread in a healthy manner in Taiwan and other democratic, open societies, and it benefits people who practice it. At the same time, it also shows the irrationality and lack of conscience associated with the Chinese regime's persecution.
On the other hand, the persecution directed by the Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin has spread abroad. They continuously use diplomatic channels and espionage personnel to harass and persecute Falun Gong practitioners outside of China. The purpose of doing so is none other than the attempt to cover up their atrocities and despotic rule from being exposed. They are trying to maintain their blatant lies in China, a place without freedom of the press.
Using Hong Kong as an example, Falun Gong practitioners were not only rejected entry, but also falsely charged by police. There was no justice from the legal process. It shows that under the Jiang regime's pressure, the spirit of democracy and "rule of law" of the Hong Kong government is being eroded. These types of false charges and persecutions of various kinds are taking place constantly. The people of Hong Kong should take precautions and not follow Mainland China's example.
Many people of Taiwan support Falun Gong. All Falun Gong activities are legal and open, and there are no secrets. Furthermore, if we are able to let all Chinese people learn about the true situation of Falun Gong in Taiwan, that would be wonderful. The issue is, Jiang's regime regards this matter as top secret and he controls all news and media. He even blocks news spread on the Internet, since most Chinese people have no way of learning that Falun Gong is welcomed by countries around the world and that Chinese practitioners are being abused and murdered.
In fact, in Taiwan, anyone can go to practice sites and see for himself. This is the most direct way of getting to know Falun Gong practitioners. There is no need to guess or presume.
Therefore, I think this spying incident reminds us that we should never allow the Jiang regime's persecution of the freedom of belief to spread into Taiwan. The safety and integrity of the freedoms enjoyed by the people of Taiwan need to be protected, and no individual or group should have their reputations tarnished by blatant lies.
I hope that the Taiwanese people will think rationally and righteously, judge the facts in front of them and not become deluded by vicious and laughable schemes.
