(Clearwisdom.net) In April 2001, my family received a phone call from an unknown caller. They were told to go in a hurry to see me, and that I was being tortured. My mother came to see me, but the labor camp did not allow her in. After my mother's insistent demands, she was finally allowed to visit me. Seeing my legs were disabled, my face scarred, and my hair had turned white after months of physical and mental torture, my mother was heartbroken and cried, "How did this happen? You told me that she would be treated well, yet you disabled my daughter to this extent?" My family repeatedly demanded that I be taken to the hospital for an examination. Finally, police officers Qin and Li complied. On the way there, police officer Zhang threatened me not to speak out the truth. At the hospital, they deceived the doctor by telling him that I had developed a stomach tumor and my legs were paralyzed. Without giving me any examination, the doctor prescribed MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) for me, with a fee of 2000 Yuan. Then they coerced me, saying "the MRI costs two thousand Yuan. Are you sure you want to take it? If you refuse now, don't ever mention that we shocked you with electric batons." I said, "Tell my family members, I will take it." However, they never told my family members at all, and, furthermore, I was transferred to a semiprivate room to isolate me from speaking to anyone.
In May, in order to save me from suffering further persecution, my mother stayed nearby in the hostel at the labor camp. Every day she would ask for hospital care for my legs, and for my release. During one hospital examination, police officer Qin deceived the doctor by saying, "don't listen to her, she is a Falun Gong practitioner and she has mental problems." While the doctor was carrying out an electromyogram, the police officers opened the door several times to harass me, fearing that I might tell the doctor about their crimes against me. They also put pressure on the doctor. The doctor said, "I am a doctor and I have my professional standards." The examination diagnosis showed I had "nerve damage on both legs." Reading the report, the doctor said sadly, "She is just a Falun Gong practitioner. Why has she be tortured to such an extent?"
After the examination the police transferred me to a "high security cell." I was unable to sit up due to the brutal persecution. More than ten people were in our room and almost everyone suffered from dysenteric diarrhea. I had a high fever of 39 degrees centigrade (102 degrees F) and also suffered from dysenteric diarrhea, but we received no care. The environment was like a living hell, but I lived with a righteous spirit. Even so, the police guards still forced me to write a letter of guarantee [promising to give up the practice of Falun Dafa]. I understood that the evil can persecute my human body, but nobody can shake my strong will and determination in believing Dafa.
In June 2001, my mother had lived in the hostel of the camp for almost one month. She suffered many tribulations and hardships, including heart attacks. Every day she asked for my release. Under this circumstance I was released on bail from the labor camp.
Carried by a female criminal, I left the camp, a hell on earth. Within five months of suffering the torture, I had never had a single good night's sleep. I had to sit through the night. I was a healthy woman, but now I was disabled, skin and bones, with white hair. Whenever my colleagues came to visit, they were shocked, "You no longer look like a person in your early forties. They changed you into an old lady with their torture!" Seeing my appearance after being tortured, people would ask, "Is this the kind of 'caring and love' shown to Falun Gong practitioners in the TV programs?"
After I went home, the torment did not end. I could not take care of myself in my daily life, and I was completely reliant on my family members. My living expenses and all of my rightful income had been withheld by the director of our work unit. I was watched continually. My work unit sent people to my home to harass us and forced me to write another letter of guarantee. The leader of the bureau that supervises my work unit threatened my family members, "We may send her to the labor camp again, if she refuses to write the guarantee." The vice party secretary of our work unit even slandered me at my home by saying that "There are so many people in the labor camp, why did they disable you by electric batons? You must have been making troubles and being dishonest."
From the first day of the Spring Festival, to the fifteenth (in Chinese lunar calendar) of 2002, my work unit sent workers to my home to watch me. This disturbed my family a lot. During the "two meetings" period (People's Congress meeting and the Political Consulting Committee meeting), they illegally deprived my husband of his right to work, asking him to stay home and watch me. They put intense pressure on him and this made our family environment very tense.
The persecution I suffered made me unable to work and take care of my family. In order to survive, I went, with the aid of crutches, to the director of my work unit, the one who had directly persecuted me. However, whenever I went there looking for him, he would escape in fear. Instead, he asked persons from the police station and security section to receive me. After I talked many times to my work unit, they agreed to give me 200 Yuan every month as my living expenses. I talked to the leaders of our work unit and asked for early retirement. They forced me to write a letter of guarantee, taking it as a precondition for my retirement. I refused to write any letter. Then, they wrote one and asked me to sign it. I refused. They asked my mother to handwrite the letter prepared by them and passed it off as my handwriting. Furthermore, they made a false report to their leader and said that I had written the letter.
I am still under persecution today. I suffer sharp pain in my legs and feet. The labor camp refuses to release my electromyogram results and other reports from medical examinations, my patient history, and medical certificates.
What I am writing here is my personal experience of being persecuted during the past three years. I am only one of the thousands and thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who are in similar situations.
