Declaration

I am a regular citizen. In 2000, my mother was illegally sentenced to one year forced labor education for appealing in Beijing. When I went to visit her, the police in the labor camp said that unless I said bad things about Falun Dafa, they would not let me see her. I heard at that time this particular labor camp had already tortured many Dafa disciples to death, so I was very eager to see my mother. Thus I went against my conscience and obeyed the police. My mother was finally released in October 2001. She told me that I should not have done that and it was only until recently that I finally understood why.

Before my mother was sent for forced labor education, my father also practiced Falun Gong. Following my mother's arrest, our entire house and all of the Falun Gong books were confiscated. My father was so scared that he gave up the practice. After my mother was released, people from the police station, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], and my mother's work place kept harassing us. Consequently, my father's blood pressure rose. He suffered from a stroke, and had to be hospitalized. I had been laid off and my father also had no source of income. The only income we had was my mother's retirement pension, which was around four hundred Yuan (500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China). We were at our wits' end. Just in time my mother's fellow practitioners gave us five hundred Yuan so that my father could continue to stay in the hospital. Although it was a tiring job for my mother to take care of him while only sleeping two to three hours a day herself, she still remained healthy and high-spirited each day during my father's one-month stay in the hospital. I then realized that I really should be grateful to Falun Gong and Mr. Li Hongzhi. My mother had had many illnesses in the past, but since she practiced Falun Gong, all of the illnesses had disappeared. Seven years have passed and I have never seen her ill once. It is easy to predict what would happen if my mother did not practice Falun Gong.

Even so, people from the police station, the "610 Office," and mother's workplace continuously harassed us, sometimes even in the middle of the night. One day they even wanted my mother to bring my father, who still could not move, with her to attend a brainwashing class. My mother refused resolutely. I was furious when I heard about this. They did not have a bit of human nature. This time I completely realized that the people who persecute Falun Gong are truly evil! So I now declare that everything I did under pressure from the labor camp is null and void.

Solemn Declaration

I have yet to practice Falun Dafa, however, during this evil persecution against Falun Gong, I went against my conscience and signed a so-called "Guarantee Statement" [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioner] on behalf of my family member. Now I solemnly declare that everything I said and wrote in the police office is null and void. I hope to have the chance to practice Falun Gong someday.

Solemn Declaration

In January 2000, my mother went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested and detained by the police. After letting her out, they gave her many materials and told my mother to "study them well and be repentant" and then write her "understandings" [after reading the materials that slander Falun Gong]. But my mother refused. Not having a good understanding about Falun Gong at that time and feeling sympathetic about what my mother had gone through, I wrote and handed in "her understandings" on her behalf when she was not home. I also said many things detrimental to Dafa. Later on I felt that people who practice Falun Gong were all very kind and candid, and that they never did anything bad. Thus I realized that Falun Gong is good. Therefore I hereby declare the "statement" I wrote for my mother null and void.
