I felt bad after reading "Regarding the Lawsuit Against Jiang in the Illinois District Court." (See http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/9/15/40318.html) I felt it was very unfair that the case was dismissed by the judge, and then in my heart I thought about many arguments that could be used for the court debates. After calming down, however, I found myself once again trapped in my human notions.
By reflecting carefully, we will realize this is closely related to our cultivation as a whole. At least for myself, many of my attachments were exposed throughout the process. From the submitting of the case to its being officially filed, we could always keep up on the latest updates with the help of overseas practitioners. Moreover, at several critical moments, practitioners around the world joined together as one body. I also sent forth righteous thoughts intensively. After learning it was officially filed, I felt relieved. After that, I did not pay much attention to it. On the surface, my thoughts were: the remaining task will be carried out by overseas practitioners who are directly involved. Deep thinking made me realize that by doing so I once again relied too much on everyday people.
In my understanding, the Lawsuit against Jiang is an important manifestation of Fa-rectification in the human world. In order to fight to the last minute, the evil has been trying all means to interfere with, hinder, and cause damage to the Fa-rectification. Those few practitioners who are directly involved in the lawsuit, including the lawyers, have experienced many obstructions and much pressure. Without other practitioners' active cooperation, those few practitioners alone find it difficult to deeply, comprehensively, and systematically clarify the truth. When we fail to exert our strength as one body, we are unable to create a sufficiently righteous field and momentum. Without adequate power from Dafa disciples to validate the Fa, we are acting as if the judge can make up for our omissions and take care of prosecuting Jiang for us. It is very easy for the old forces to take advantage of this.
I have several thoughts to share with fellow practitioners on this matter:
Since I am not aware of many details, here I just want to give some suggestions to overseas practitioners based on some Clearwisdom articles that I have read:
We can first introduce the large picture of recent history and the cultural environment in China. For example, numerous political campaigns attacking mainstream citizens have taught us grave lessons. Do we still have some records that show that Jiang instigated the persecution such as handwriting, voice or TV recording, witnesses, etc.? For example, the label of "evil cult" came from Jiang for the first time (in the interview with LeFigaro in late October 1999). There is also a video record of his defaming Dafa in the US media (CBS "60 Minutes--" reporter Mike Wallace interviewed him in early September, 2000 during the UN Millennium Summit.)
I am not an expert in the field of law, but can we consider the following facts? When the persecution started, Jiang was the head of China, which makes him the prime culprit. All other high officials in the politburo back then have now resigned, and only Jiang is still holding power to sustain the persecution. Can we use this as evidence to show the persecution results from his personal will?
These are just my personal understandings. I hope more good ideas from others will follow. Please kindly point out anything improper.
