[Beijing] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhao Yuxiang

Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Yuxiang, 43 years old, graduated from a Chinese medical university with a Master's degree. He was an attendant doctor at the acupuncture division of the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing. Mr. Zhao has been illegally detained many times and was persecuted in brainwashing classes. On around October 31, 2003, police illegally took him away. His current whereabouts are unknown.

[Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Persecution of Dafa Practitioner Wang Yan, an Undergraduate Student from Nanjing University

Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Yan is an undergraduate student from the class of 2003 of the Atmospheric Department of Nanjing University in Jiangsu Province. University officials exerted pressure on him and forced him to write the "three statements."* Recently, another practitioner called him and learned that he had passed the entrance exams for the graduate program in his department this year and was enrolled. However, university authorities refused to assign him a mentor. His diploma was also withheld and was not awarded to him. In this way, the persecutors subjected him to extreme psychological pressure.

*Three Statements: Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief in Falun Dafa. Concocted by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance for having practiced Falun Gong, a guarantee to never again to practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.

[Yunnan Province] "610 Office" Personnel Persecute Dafa Practitioners in the Education System

From August 2003 onwards, Yunnan Province's "610 Office"* started a new round of persecution against Dafa practitioners who persist in their belief and are working in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, universities, normal schools, technical schools and other schools. The practitioners were demoted from their teaching positions and their "outstanding teacher awards" were revoked. "610 Office" personnel also exerted pressure on practitioners' work units and cancelled any honors that their work units had bestowed on them. This incident has had a negative effect in those schools.

* The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

[Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Couple, Hui Hongqi and Zu Yidan, Illegally Sent to a Brainwashing Class

Dafa practitioners Mr. Hui Hongqi and his wife Ms. Zu Yidan are teachers at a middle school district associated with Hebei University of Science and Technology. It was learned that they were illegally arrested not long ago, and they are currently being detained at a brainwashing class. Another practitioner, Ms. Ma Shuqing, is also being detained with them.

[Baishan City, Jilin Province] Labor Camp Instructor Tortures Dafa Practitioners for the Purpose of Receiving a Bonus -- Belated News

At about 3:00 p.m. one day in September 2000, wardens at the Education Division from the Baishan City Labor Camp called Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Mingzhi from Linjiang City out and didn't let him have lunch. When other practitioners met Wang Mingzhi, they saw a wound near his eyebrow. When they asked him about it he said the wardens tried to force him to write a guarantee statement to denounce and give up Falun Gong, saying if he didn't write it, the wardens' bonus would be deducted. Wang Mingzhi refused to write it, so the wardens put him in a metal cage and shocked him with electric batons.

One day in December 1999, Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Jingang from an electrical factory persisted in doing the Dafa exercises at the Education Division from the Baishan City Forced Labor Camp. For that, wardens shocked him with several electric batons simultaneously. According to an eyewitness prisoner's report, this caused Li Jingang to lose control of his bowels.

Wang Yanwei, Director of the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province, is notorious for the persecution of Dafa practitioners. He did not join a group tour in November to travel to Singapore, Malaysia and to Thailand, which all the other employees took part in. According to reliable sources, Wang Yanwei was suffering from a severe illness and was hospitalized. Later, he came back to work but he looked very ill and was listless.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] The Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp Launches Another Round of Persecution Against Dafa Practitioners

A "transformation group" composed of about 20 people was recently organized. Its sponsor is Jilin Province's Judiciary Department and the co-sponsor is Changchun City's Judiciary Department, which includes policemen from different prisons and forced labor camps. At the end of November 2003, they went to Changchun City's Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp and held a two-week-long "Transformation Storming Battle" there. The "storming battle" this time was different from before -- two or three leaders or guards in each team have to eat and sleep in the camp. They use different means in an attempt to brainwash practitioners. They awoke practitioners in the middle of the night, forced them into the "battle," and asked them to write an "experience sharing" article right after this form of persecution. Practitioners usually have to stay up until dawn and then have to do heavy labor during the day.

All the team leaders and guards in each of the teams were exhausted. At the beginning, two people were required to take turns to monitor practitioners. Later, this number was increased to three people per practitioner. Now all the people have to eat and sleep at the camp. They aren't allowed to go home and have to keep company with the "transformation group" to sway practitioners to give up Dafa cultivation. They understand clearly that they will in no way be able to transform Dafa practitioners, but they still have to labor in vain day and night. They have been complaining a lot. It is said that the so-called "battle" will be over around December 10.

At present, more and more Dafa practitioners from Beijing are returning to Fa-rectification cultivation, which is terrifying the evil. Recently, all police stations in Beijing have started to investigate and register all Falun Gong practitioners, including those who have never stepped forward to validate Dafa. The focus of their investigation centers on those practitioners who have been detained at prisons and forced labor camps.

During the night of November 25, 2003, police destroyed Dafa materials production sites in three districts and arrested nine Dafa practitioners, including Chen Peijun. The immediate reason for this incident was the work of spies who had pretended to be practitioners. Practitioners who worked in the materials sites were aware of the spies two months ago, but they had different opinions on this, which created an advantageous loophole for the evildoers.

Recently, personnel from Yingkou City "610 Office" have already held two brainwashing sessions in the downtown area. It is said that they are scheming to hold another session. These people even claimed that when they arrest people, they would try all means, including force, to carry out their plans to coerce practitioners into giving up Falun Dafa.

[Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yan Yongcong Is Arrested

Dafa practitioner Ms. Yan Yongcong was an employee in the No. 604 Team of Guangyuan City's East Dam. She was an amicable person, worked very diligently and had a very good relationship with her co-workers. On June 25, 2003, Ma Wei, a security person from her work unit, reported her while she was handing out Dafa truth-clarifying materials. She is now detained at Guangyuan City's Xiaoxijie Detention Center.

In the first month of her detention, the police guards didn't allow her family members to visit her. Only after one month had passed did the police allow them to visit. The policemen also threatened Ms. Yan not to tell her family about her experience in the detention center, so even her family members do not know much about her living conditions there. They only mentioned that she was much thinner than before.

It is said that the guards promised to let Ms. Yan go home, provided she admits to being "guilty." However, Yan Yongcong has very strong righteous thoughts and has always been determined to uphold her belief in Falun Dafa.

[Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Illegal Forced Labor Sentence for Dafa Practitioner Ms. Gao Caihong -- Belated News

Ms. Gao Caiyun is a retired employee of the Liaohe Oil Field in the Huanxiling Area, Panjin City, Liaoning Province. Since July 1999, when Jiang Zemin's regime began to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Gao has often been harassed for her steadfastness in Dafa cultivation. Whenever the so-called sensitive days came, such as May 1st, October 1st and the Spring Festival, policemen always appeared at her home to interrogate her. At about 9:00 p.m. on September 29, 2002, a policeman with the surname Li, from the local police precinct, went to Gao Caiyun's home to attempt to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong. He asked Gao whether she would go to Beijing to appeal during the October 1^st holiday. She replied, "Maybe tomorrow I will go." Just because of these words the police precinct people arrested her that same night. Later, she was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. Now she is detained at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and is suffering persecution in the form of brainwashing.

[Inner Mongolia AR] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Hao Jingxia

During the afternoon of November 15, 2003, lawless policemen in Duolun County went to Ms. Hao Jingxia's home and arrested her and two other Dafa practitioners from another city. These two Dafa practitioners have successfully escaped with the power of their righteous thoughts, but Hao Jingxia is still being detained at Duolun County's Detention Center. Officers from Duolun County's No.2 Police Precinct participated in this act of persecution.

[Qinghuandao City, Hebei Province] Lawless Policemen in Tumenzi Village, Qinglong County Search for Dafa Practitioners by Going Door to Door

On about December 1, 2003, policemen in Tumenzi Township, Qinglong County, Qinghuangdao City, Hebei Province, illegally searched and arrested Dafa practitioners by going door to door again. Dafa practitioner Song Guixian, who had suffered all kinds of tortures in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp and had walked out after a 15-month hunger strike protest, was arrested again.

On December 4, 2003, Dafa practitioner Mr. Meng Xianqun from Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province was informed to go back to his work unit. The ruse those people used was that they needed to "talk about pension assurance." When he went to his unit, the people waiting for him were Ma Jinli, Chief of the County's National Security Team and others. In October 2003, Dafa Practitioners Mr. Tang Jie and Mr. Zhu Guangtao from the Erdaohezi District, Changchun City, Jilin Province were arrested and taken to Changchun City's Chaoyanggou Detention Center. Tang Jie is now detained at the No.7 Division and Zhu Guangtao is detained at the No.5 Division.

[Shihezi City, Xinjiang AR] Criminal Account of Lawless Policeman Xu Ningdong Torturing Dafa Practitioners

Jiang's follower, Xu Ningdong, male, about 39 years old, is an official of the National Security Team of Shihezi City's Police Department in Xinjiang AR (postal code: 832000). Since July 20, 1999, he had taken the lead in ransacking Falun Gong practitioners' houses and arresting them. During the past four years he has cruelly tortured countless Falun Gong practitioners. He has handcuffed practitioners' hands behind their backs for several days and nights. If the handcuffs were a little bit loose, he would tighten them. He didn't allow practitioners to sleep. He often hung practitioners up by their handcuffs, shocked them with electric batons for a long time and verbally threatened them. Among the tortured practitioners were elderly people over sixty or seventy years old, and also graduate students about twenty years old.

On November 26, 2003, the Hebei Daily, and on December 3, the Niucheng Evening News in Xingtai City, both published a notice about the activities of the first session organized for evaluating "Good reporting of anti-XX (slanderous words omitted)." This joint activity was held by Hebei Province's "610 Office," the province's propaganda department and the province's news reporters association. News reports slandering Dafa, published between 2002 and 2003, were evaluated for quality. Large awards were established for the winners.
