Facts of the Persecution

Since November 2003, police from the Chifeng City "610 Office" and the City Police Station in Heilongjiang Province lead police from the Jianchangying Town Police Substation, the Yuanbaoshan Substation, the Yuanbaoshan Power Plant Substation, and the Fengshuigou Mine-Shuangfeng Substation have been mass arresting Falun Dafa practitioners. According to incomplete statistics, 26 Falun Dafa practitioners from Yuanbaoshan District have been abducted ["610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong with absolute power of each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems].

At the end of January 2003, police in the Jiamusi Labor Camp tortured Falun Dafa practitioners by handcuffing them in a position known as, "Carrying a Sword on the Back" [in which a practitioner's hands are tied behind his back with one hand over the shoulder and the other hand against the lower back. The police then apply a great deal of force to pull the two hands toward one another and handcuff the two hands together]. Police admitted that they could not endure this torture for even 1 minute themselves. Yet Falun Dafa practitioners have been cuffed like this for more than half an hour! They endured such extreme pain that their entire bodies were soaked in sweat. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Hu Qili was cuffed like this for more than 7 hours! In October, 2002, during the 16^th Party Congress, all Falun Dafa practitioners in the 7, 8, and 9 women's teams were tortured by being made to sit on small, sharp-edged stools from 5:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., and at the same time watch videos that slander Falun Dafa. Anyone refusing to give up Falun Dafa practice was tortured by being handcuffed in the "Carrying a Sword on the Back" position. Police in the Jiamusi Labor Camp forced everyone to recite the camp's rules; otherwise they were not allowed to eat. They forced Dafa practitioners to do heavy labor, even those who could not take care of themselves because of the severe torture. Police had them carried to the labor camp exercise yard and thrown onto the floor. The former camp director Ren Shicai said maliciously, "Whoever can't work, extend their terms!"

We heard that police in the Rang District of Daqing City had a meeting recently about persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. They want to further escalate the persecution by levying "heavier punishments" to arrested Falun Dafa practitioners. Recently two Falun Dafa practitioners were abducted from their homes.

Police in the Hewan Labor Camp of Wuhan City, Hubei Province conducted inhumane persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners such as ordering drug-addict prisoners or other prisoners to closely monitor Falun Dafa practitioners, depriving them of sleep, forcing them to stand for long periods of time while standing close to and facing the wall, forcing them to kneel down for long periods with their feet against the wall, beating them up, force-feeding them, and so on. They turned prisoners into their own enforcers.

Police in Wucheng County, Shandong Province had a meeting on December 10 and 11, 2003 in which they made arrangements to terrorize Falun Dafa practitioners before New Year's Day by interrogating and searching each one. Ten practitioners in Wucheng County were sentenced to labor camp in October.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

The following is an excerpt from the article, "The Story of How Falun Dafa Practitioners in Shenyang City Safe Guarded the Fa on July 20, 1999."

Many volunteer assistants in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province and from all over the country were arrested on the morning of July 19, 1999. Many practitioners from all walks of life made arrangements with their families and employers, and came to appeal at the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government Appeals Office. A huge number of police were stationed there. Starting at 9:00 a.m. police beat and dragged practitioners into police vehicles, and then sent them to the Shenyang City Stadium. Several thousand Falun Dafa practitioners were gathered there. Some of them were reading Zhuan Falun, some of them were telling the facts to the police. The police took down their names, their employers' names, their addresses, and their phone numbers one by one. The police transported these practitioners to a suburban area with their vehicles, and then left them there.

The next day, practitioners continued to appeal. There were police all over the streets and walkways. Police blocked the road in front of the Liaoning Provincial Government, dragged all practitioners to Huanggu District Stadium, and took down their names again. When another bus full of practitioners came, practitioners already there would Heshi or clap their hands to encourage them. Because practitioners recited the Fa together, police would beat up the practitioners who lead the reciting. Practitioners would all shout out, "The police are not allowed to beat people!" The night passed, and the sun came out. Countless little Faluns came down in the rays. Practitioners hailed, "Falun! Falun!" A young girl from out of town stood up and started reading Zhuan Falun. Some practitioners cried. Around 7:00 a.m. practitioners outside the metal bars gave food to practitioners locked inside. A young girl started collecting garbage from every one with a plastic bag. The floor was very clean, and we were in great order.

More and more police came after 8:00 a.m. They started transporting people out, one bus after another. Very few practitioners were left. It was after 9:00 a.m., and we still needed to go to work. Several local practitioners and I decided to walk out together. A male police officer shouted at us, "What are you doing?" We said, "Going home." He replied, "No way!" One of us answered, "We are saving you the trouble of sending us on the bus." A female police officer said, "go ahead, go! Let them go!" And so we walked out of Huanggu Stadium.
