Facts of the Persecution
The torture methods used to persecute Dafa practitioners at the Shibalihe Female Labor Camp in Zhenzhou City, Henan Province include: brainwashing, "clamping,"* destroying Dafa books, brutal beatings, heavy manual labor, persecuting Dafa practitioners' families, and slandering Master, Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Countless torture methods are used here to persecute Dafa practitioners.
More than 70 practitioners have been detained for a long time at the Fengtai Detention Center in Beijing because they did truth clarification in Beijing. They suffer serious persecution and are in a difficult situation. Practitioner Liu Lan went to Tiananmen Square many times to rectify the Fa, was illegally detained nine times and then abused and mistreated. She always broke free after going on hunger strikes and using righteous thoughts and righteous actions.
The Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center authorities harass and brainwash Dafa practitioners through using collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing]. If the practitioners persist in their faith, the guards would reveal their cruel nature and curse Dafa or Master and force practitioners to watch brainwashing videos. Officials also conduct random security examinations through body searches. They would also grope the female practitioners. Later, they stripped the practitioners naked. One practitioner didn't cooperate with a security examination and was detained in solitary confinement. They tortured the practitioners with iron cages and iron chairs. One practitioner who held a hunger strike was pinned down and force-fed. Some of her teeth were knocked out, and she almost suffocated and was unable to move.
Dafa practitioners Zhang Yunhe, Su Jun and Zou Limei from Qingdao City were harassed many times by police from the "610 Office" and were forced to leave home. Dafa practitioner Zou Songtao, husband of Zhang Yunhe, was tortured to death by vicious police in late 2000. In 2002, Zou Limei returned home with her husband and practitioner Li Zhenwen and was reported to police. Zou Limei escaped with righteous thoughts and was forced to leave home. Li Zhenwen was kidnapped by vicious "610 Office" enforcers from Qingdao City. He is currently illegally detained. (The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems.)
Persecution against Dafa practitioners in Fuxin City, Liaoning Province: Gao Yan went to Beijing to appeal in November 1999 and was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was released after seven months of detention but was constantly harassed. Her home was ransacked twice and she was forcibly detained for more than five months. Yang Yazhen was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp in March 2002 and is still detained there. Song Shuling was illegally detained in the Xindi Detention Center twice and was brutally beaten until she vomited blood. The vicious police ransacked her home three times and extorted nearly 20,000 Yuan from her. Gao Li was illegally detained by her work unit for several days in July 1999 and sent to a detention center, where she was detained for more than three months. For the past three years, her work unit has refused to let her resume her work.
*Clamps: Several common prisoners are designated to watch, brainwash, torture the practitioners and deprive of their sleep, dis-allow them to practice the Falun Gong exercises, etc. Those prisoners were called "clamps." Usually it amounted to "three clamping one," but there were also occasions where "four clamping one" or "five clamping one" would be applied, and it means that several "clamps" monitored one Dafa practitioner. They followed and monitored Dafa practitioners' every move. They "accompanied" practitioners when eating, sleeping, working and doing other activities, even when using the toilet and taking showers.
