Since July 22, 1999, I was illegally detained, sent to a labor camp, and tortured by the authorities there following the directives of Jiang's regime. I am a 69 years old, retired teacher from a school in Hebei, and the descendant of a martyr of the Chinese communist party. In July 20, 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal according to the Chinese constitution, but was illegally detained. Dafa practitioner Li Guanghong appealed for Falun Gong in December 1999, and was illegally detained for one month, then fired. She was forced to leave home because police officers harassed her frequently. In May 2001, she was abducted by police officers into a brainwashing center. She managed to escape on July 9, 2001 using righteous thoughts. In early August 2001, she was abducted again to the first detention center and was imprisoned for over four months, until January 2002; she almost died. In July 2002, she was once again forced into a brainwashing center for two months.

They tricked Dafa practitioners by saying 99% practitioners in the society have given up their practice, and that "the overseas clearwisdom.net (Minghui)"has closed down. Some evil police officers threatened Dafa practitioners by saying they would be sent to the forced labor camp in the northeast China, be sentenced for many years, or even be shot. Whenever Dafa practitioners reported the true situation in the camp to visitors or family members, or when the upper level managements investigated the situations in the camp, the police officers would bear false witness to each other. In the Tuanhe, any so called "evidence" used to punish Dafa practitioners is all lies.

Days ago, the "Wen Wei Po" published an article written by Liang Si, in which the author advocated that, because around 800 Falun Gong practitioners paraded and assembled in Hong Kong on February 23, 2003, so should Falun Gong be 'prohibited' or 'outlawed'. Under the guise of protecting 'national security', such lies were produced. A nation is constituted by the people, when people have lost its safety, where is the safety of the nation? A nation is safe only when its people's benefits are guaranteed. Falun Gong practitioners resisted the Article 23 legislation, because they felt their safety was being threatened. Their behavior is a protection of their safety according to the law, and also a protection to the safety of the nation. The real 'national safety' in Liang's article referred to the safety of the dictator, not the people of the nation. We should act together to stop this kind of shameless behavior which abuses the name of "national safety".
