Facts of the Persecution

Since December 2002, Masanjia Labor Education Center in Liaoning Province has been carrying out a "Tough Battle" against Falun Gong practitioners in the name of "Improving Discipline at the Education Center." The methods they use include spreading rumors to cheat practitioners, threatening and harassing them, using continuous and brutal physical torture, and brainwashing practitioners with vicious slander. During the brutal "Tough Battle" many practitioners were so severely tortured that they could not walk. Some lost consciousness. Some practitioners had their ankles injured to the point of being red and swollen, and some had their arms swollen and were in extreme pain. They were severely persecuted both physically and psychologically.

Lin Yonggui, the head of the Second Detention Center of Qiqihar City in Heilongjiang Province, brutally tortures Falun Gong practitioners: He hits practitioners with the "Little White Dragon" (a kind of white baton) and with a bamboo baton, drags them by the hair, orders them to sit straight, forces them to watch videos that slander Falun Gong, and brutally beats them. Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Xiaomei was beaten black and blue all over her body. She lost consciousness. The Jianhua Police team in Qiqihar City brutally persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. The vicious people electric shock practitioners all over their bodies, including on the breasts, genitals, and head; they squeeze the testicles and force practitioners to stay outside for several hours in the freezing weather with their clothes off. They also hang practitioners up in the air and forced them to sit on iron chairs.

News and Activities Around the World

Li Qiuying, a Falun Gong practitioner from Taiwan: On February 21, I flew to Hong Kong to attend the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference. Upon entering Customs I was deported in the name of security. Among the 10 practitioners that were deported, 5 female practitioners were also rudely carried onto the airplane in linen bags. We were all injured to some extent when we were brutally put into the bags. Such despicable actions took place in the international municipality without telling anyone the true reason. We do not want to believe that the "Pearl of the East," famous for its freedom, has become the tool of the vicious dictator in Mainland China to persecute good people.

An Open Letter from a Falun Gong Practitioners in Anshan City to the Anshan Party Secretary and the Mayor: "On July 22, 1999 Jiang started a brutal persecution against the universal principles out of his own jealousy. In Anshan 4 people have been persecuted to death, over 20 people have been illegally sentenced, over 2,000 people sent for labor education and over a hundred people were persecuted to the extent of becoming handicapped and injured. During your terms of office so many people are persecuted, some are even persecuted to death. You cannot escape from your responsibility. 'Good will be rewarded with good and evil with evil.' We hope you distinguish between right and wrong and treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly."

Before I was introduced to Falun Gong I suffered from serious arthritis, iritis, and retinitis. After practicing Falun Gong I recovered. When I had just started practicing I did not pay attention to Fa-study and I went to sleep very early after practicing the exercises. One night Teacher gave me a hint in my dream. I then realized and knew the importance of Fa-study. Once someone cursed me for no reason and even wanted to hit me with a stone. I thought: I am a practitioner and I should not be on the same level as he is. Upon thinking this he dropped the stone and stopped cursing me. Currently, as we are busy, some fellow practitioners ignore practicing the exercises. This is due to laziness. We need to find time to practice no matter how busy we are. Practicing the exercises not only strengthens Falun and the mechanisms in the body, but also clears away fatigue. Teacher says, "However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is." ("Also in a Few Words" in Essentials for Further Advancement II) When I clarify the truth and write slogans on the wall I keep sending righteous thoughts: let the slogan be here for a long time! Therefore the slogan stays for a long time. More people will know the truth of Falun Gong.
