Ni Yuchun had been detained illegally at the Hewan Forced Labor Camp, Wuhan City, Hubei Province for one and a half years, and his sentence was up on February 10, 2003. However, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] at Wuchang not only disallowed his parents to meet him at the labor camp, but they also refused the parents' request to accompany their son to the brainwashing center. At the same time they even lied, claiming that Ni Yuchun's parents were unwilling to visit their son. The labor camp sent Ni Yuchun to the Wuchang Yangyuan Brainwashing Class without notifying his parents. Later, when Ni's parents asked for a medical examination for their son because his physical health was not good, the "610 Office" used all kinds of pretexts to evade the issue.

Gao Shuyun, female, 62 years old, was detained illegally at the Dedu Forced Labor Camp in November 2001, because she practices Falun Gong. She was later illegally sentenced to four years' imprisonment and detained at Harbin Xinjian Prison in Heilongjiang Province. The authorities at the prison have forbidden her family from visiting.

At about 1:00 pm on March 3, 2003, the director of the "610 Office" in Xingyang City in Henan Province, Zheng Feng and the police from the Beimang Police Substation, broke into Dafa practitioner Fan Baiyin's home illegally. They ransacked his home and confiscated two truth-clarifying VCDs, a silkscreen banner, and even stole his cell phone. Fan Baiyin was illegally detained at Xingyang City Sanlizhuang Forced Labor Camp. In order to resist the persecution, he has been on a hunger strike with no water or food.
At noon on March 4, 2003, Zheng Feng led a group of policemen and broke into Yang Falin's home, confiscating Dafa books and materials, the exercise music, VCDs and banners. They arrested Yang Falin and he is now illegally detained at the Xinyang Sanlizhuang Forced Labor Camp.

Three Dafa practitioners, Deng Mei (female), Mo Mei (female) and Yang Zai were illegally arrested again on February 25, 2003 by the "610 Office" of Suixi County, Guangdong Province. They are detained at the Suixi Party School because they have remained firm in their belief in Dafa, even after their terms in the forced labor camp were over. Several Dafa practitioners suddenly disappeared before the "Two Meetings" of the Chinese Communist Party. It is possible that they have been arrested and detained in a forced labor camp. This is a trick often used by Jiang's regime. A Dafa practitioner related that on a night before the Sixteenth Party Congress, someone broke into their home at 3:00 AM and arrested an elderly couple, taking them to a forced labor camp. It is said that for the security of the "Two Meetings", government officials at different levels signed "responsibility statements", disallowing any legal appeal.

Sun Zhen, from Northeast China, graduated from China Political Science and Law University in 1999. In July 2002, his landlord notified the authorities that he was preparing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Sun was arrested on July 22, 2002 by the police from Beijing Huairou National Security. Sun Zhen's girlfriend was also arrested. A computer and a laser printer were confiscated. When he was arrested, Sun Zhen shouted loudly "Falun Dafa is good!" Afterwards, he was sent to the Beijing Legal System Education Center for brainwashing. It is said that then he was sent to the No. 7 Division of Beijing City Public Security Bureau.

Lai Zhenxian was arrested by plainclothes police from the Guangdong Criminal Investigation Bureau in Dongguan City. It is said that the police had followed him for four months. There was a reward of 15,000 Yuan offered for any information leading to the arrest of Mr. Lai [500 Yuan is equal to an average urban worker's monthly salary].

From October to November 2000, a number of Dafa practitioners, including Yang Guang, were illegally arrested. The First Division of the Changchun City Public Security Bureau purchased a copying machine and used it as false evidence to sentence Dafa practitioners severely.
Because of this event, the First Division of the Changchun City Public Security Bureau was invited to attend an awards meeting held in Beijing at the beginning of 2001. They also removed and destroyed banners defaming Dafa in the neighborhood of a district government office.

Taihang Jail in Hebei Province has detained many Falun Gong practitioners. The policemen there forcefully try to brainwash the practitioners and do not allow them to sleep. They use vicious words to curse Dafa and Teacher, and they also force practitioners to watch videos slandering Falun Dafa.
The 3rd team of the No. 2 Section locks up newly-arrived Dafa practitioners in separate isolation cells and does not allow them any contact with outsiders. Except for using the toilet, they are not allowed to go out. The measures that are use for forced brainwashing include the following: punishing the practitioners by forcing them to stand for prolonged periods of time, not allowing them to sleep, cursing and beating and forcing practitioners to read words defaming Teacher and Dafa. Under the scorching sun in summer, Dafa practitioners were hung up in the confinement room. Practitioners who remained steadfast were closely monitored by four criminal prisoners who kept near them constantly, fearing that these practitioners might clarify the truth. Practitioners were not allowed to contact those who had been brainwashed, and they are even forbidden to speak to the regular criminal inmates.
