(Clearwisdom.net) Several months ago, we read a letter asking for help from a fellow practitioner of schoolmates at Jiao Tong University on Clearwisdom. Young university students and practitioners in Taiwan therefore planned a rescue activity to clarify the truth and expose the evil on campus from perspectives of students and human rights.
The activity included clarifying the truth to higher authorities, collecting signatures in cafeterias, dormitories and classes.
After two days of collecting signatures during the day, I wanted to go to dormitories during the evenings to collect signatures. I felt I should do so, though I was alone. I found that I could clarify the truth better this way. There were even students who have never heard about Falun Gong, not to mention the persecution. Some students learned more about Dafa and why there is persecution against Dafa. Some students wanted to learn the Falun Dafa exercises. I also met those who had negative impressions of Dafa. While collecting signatures at the dormitories, I found that the effect was good. Some students signed their names on their own initiative after reading related materials. Some said to us, "You are working so hard." Some truly changed their original negative understanding and attitude after listening to our explanation of the facts about Falun Dafa.
In our spare time, we would go to visit officials at school to clarify the truth to them. We had an opportunity to meet with the president of the university at a students' dinner party. We gave him some materials and made an appointment with him at 3 p.m. the next day. While waiting for him, we sent forth righteous thoughts for more than one hour. When we saw him, he immediately said, "I'll sign to support you!" Afterwards, he added, "Falun Gong is good!" and gave a thumbs-up to show his support.
When we went to meet the director of general affairs office, we made an appointment with his secretary at 11 a.m. Then we kept studying the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts. When meeting with the director, he asked what he could do to help and signed his name.
Before classes, I talked to professors about the activity. One of the professors signed his name and was glad to give me five minutes in class to talk to the students. Another professor agreed to let me talk to the students after class. One student signed his name and wanted to help collect signatures from other students.
When the press conference was held, we had collected about 1,000 signatures. I believe most students at the National Chiao Tung University knew about this activity, as many of them expressed that they had read about our information on the Internet and seen our posters. Many students were glad to sign to support us after we explained to them about our purpose. The entire university supported this activity and opposed persecution of students' human rights. Many students were shocked when learning that those students in China have been expelled from school, refused admission to school, sentenced to jail and even tortured to death because they believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This would never occur in Taiwan. The student union at the university also supported us with their signature and official seal.
In a short period of time we clarified the truth to many students on campus. The rescue effort will continue so long as schoolmates of Tsinghua University and Jiao Tong University who were illegally detained are not released, and the persecution has not ended. We will gather the signatures collected and submit them to human rights groups, and we will also continue discussing the next step of our rescue effort.
