Facts of Persecution

The government officials of Huludao City do not concern themselves with the economic reality that the masses have no means of physical support to live, nor do they pay attention to the chaotic status of public security. On the contrary, they spend huge amounts of money and mass manpower to persecute Falun Gong. Many steadfast Dafa practitioners were transferred from different labor camps in Liaoning Province to Huludao re-education camp and were forced to receive brainwashing. Because government officials from Huludao City and Ruizhong County unlawfully persecute Dafa practitioners they have brought calamities including drought, fire, severe homicides and SARS to frequently appear in the local area in recent years.

The following is an excerpt from letter by a Chinese Party Cadre to Hu Jintao (Secretary General of the Party and the Chairman of Chinese government) and Wen Jiabao (Prime Minster): Now I want to raise an issue that needs your immediate attention: it is the issue of Falun Gong. I am not a Falun Gong practitioner. As a party cadre, I have every confidence in you, the new leaders of both the Party and the central government, and being loyal to the people, I want to give voice to my innermost feelings. I would like to speak honestly, that is, the Falun Gong issue has to be reconsidered and its nature has to be re-determined.

When the Nanjing Municipal Health Department announced that there was only one SARS case in Nanjing City, two employees of Alcoa Corporation in France, who just returned from China, appeared to have SARS symptoms. The Alcoa Corporation in France was concerned that China was still concealing the true situation of SARS. The World Health Organization spokesperson pointed out on May 10 that Beijing authorities still had no clue of how half its number of SARS patients became infected. This meant that it was still premature for some of the Beijing officials to claim that the epidemic situation has been improved. WHO especially worried that the epidemic would spread to rural areas in China.
