About 100 people rally for answers in the case of jailed Falun Gong practitioner Charles Li, of Menlo Park. Li was arrested in China in late January and sentenced to three years in jail. He wrote in a letter that he has been beaten, force-fed and tortured during his time in captivity, according to a rally spokesperson. The Falun Gong spiritual movement has been banned in China. Saturday's rally was at the United Nations Plaza in San Francisco.
