Recently, the Gongzhuling City committee and persons from the city government called up most work unit officials to a meeting, discussing how to prevent Dafa practitioners from clarifying the truth through cable TV and the Internet. Mr. Li Baowei, a police officer for Langfang City's Judicial Department, was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor for persisting in Dafa practice. After he was released from the labor camp, his work unit refused to employ him again. On July 24, 2003, his work unit called him in with the excuse of talking about work, but instead, the thugs handcuffed him and sent him to a brainwashing center. [Yanqing County, Beijing City] Dafa Practitioner Yang Jinxia Stages a Hunger Strike to Protest the Persecution

Ms. Yang Jinxia persists in Dafa practice. She went to Beijing many times to validate Dafa. The police put her on a wanted list. After she was forced to leave home, she kept clarifying the truth and validating Dafa. She was arrested and detained many times. She escaped twice with righteous thoughts. In 2000, she almost died from torture at Chaoyang District Police Department in Beijing. Her husband Mr. Han Shimin is also a Dafa practitioner. In June 2000, he was illegally sentenced to six years of imprisonment for clarifying the truth, validating Dafa and making truth- clarifying materials.

In September 2002, Yang Jinxia clarified the truth to a taxi driver on her way to Langfang City, but the driver reported her to the police for a reward. As a result, the police arrested and sent Yang to Division No.7 of Beijing City Police Department. She was later transferred to Beijing City's Fengtai Detention Center, where thousands of Yuan** were taken from her, as well as her cell phone and other personal belongings. Her family went to visit her twice to bring her money and clothes, but the police refused to issue a pass and didn't allow her family to visit her. Her family's letter to her was also confiscated. A person who was detained with her made a phone call to her family and told them that Yang was brutally tortured and it seemed her leg(s) was broken from beatings. For more than six months afterwards, nothing was heard from her. Recently, it was learned that she had been transferred to Tong County's Qiaozhuang Detention Center in Beijing in early July. She has been on a hunger strike for six months, and now she needs help walking. The police still don't want to release her and are planning to sentence her in court.

[Beijing] Dafa Practitioner Wang Zhiming from the China Garments Co, Ltd. is Forced to Leave Home

Mr. Wang Zhiming, in his 30's, is a Dafa practitioner who often went to the Tuanjiehu Park practice site in the Chaoyang District in Beijing. He worked at the Import & Export Department for the China Garments Co, Ltd. He is kind and sincere, and his solid work ethic won the praise of many colleagues. He was illegally detained many times for persisting in Dafa practice, and the police beat him up. Later, his work unit officials forcibly sent him to a brainwashing class. At the class he was deluded, but he realized his mistake after he returned home. In order to avoid further brainwashing and labor camp persecution, he was forced to leave home in July 2001. Eight people at Changchun City's Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp beat up practitioner Mr. Jin Jinghui. As he persisted in his belief and didn't yield to the evil persecution, the local "610 Office" authorities transferred him to Changchun City's Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center. It was done on January 23, 2003 when his detention term had expired. His four limbs were tied to a bed. Two designated people monitored him. In February 2003, personnel at Jiutai City's Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp tried to brainwash several Dafa practitioners. She suffered excruciating physical torture many times, such as being put on a metal chair, being tied to an executioner's bed, and suffering shocks from electric batons (Clearwisdom.net reported the persecution before.) She staged three hunger strikes to protest the persecution. One lasted 26 days. She is now extremely emaciated and is unable to take care of herself. Police tie her arms to a metal bed and force-feed her on a daily basis. Every policeman removed 50 Yuan from her deposit for a so-called "allowance." Her family members and fellow practitioners had deposited quite a lot of money for her. The police are taking her money without her consent, which amounts to stealing.

On July 29, 2003, news came from Hengyang County's Detention Center: practitioner Mr. Zhou Baoguo was beaten up by personnel from the city's "610 Office" during detention because he insisted on his belief. On May 22, 2003, the police from Liubinbao Township Police Precinct deceived Fan and Liu to come to the local police station. They detained the practitioners at the Yanqing Detention Center for a month. On June 30 2003, Fan and Liu were sentenced to two years forced labor and sent to Daxing County.

Soon after July 20, the police from Wangou Town went to every practitioner's home to ransack their homes and arrest practitioners when they found Dafa books or materials. The police also stayed at nearby practitioners' homes to monitor and harass practitioners.

Ms. Ma Lianxiao is 57 years old. On the morning of July 11, 2003, when she went to her work unit, the Liaoning Province Architectural Science Academy to clarify the truth of Falun Gong, she happened to encounter personnel from the Jixian Community and Jixian Police Precinct attending a meeting there. Later, a young lawless policeman from the Jixian Police Precinct packed her into a taxi and took her away. Afterwards, her work place, the community and the police precinct blocked the news. Now, Ma's whereabouts are unknown. Her work place had already suspended her salary since June of 2001.

Ms. Ma had been illegally detained twice, in 1999 and 2001, because she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and had distributed truth-clarifying materials. In November 2001, after she went on a hunger strike for 24 days, she escaped from Shenyang City's Detention Center and Dabei Prison's Hospital with righteous thoughts. After that, she had to live a homeless life to avoid further persecution.
