Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yan Zhigang, from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, has been transferred back to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp and is being held in the No. 5 Brigade. Xu is the head of the brigade. Mr. Yan's family recently went to the labor camp, but Xu denied them visitation, citing orders from higher up. Xu has also instigated inmates to verbally and physically abuse Mr. Yan. Some inmates even took away his underpants as instructed by police officers.

Police officer Xiang Hui of the Wuhan City Police Department, who reports to the city's "610 Office," is primarily responsible for unlawfully sentencing Mr. Yan to forced labor and for transferring him to various facilities. Xiang's office telephone number is 86-27-85395262.

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Liang Xiaoyan and Ms. Liang Qixia, from Xiqiao Town in Nanhai City, Guangdong Province, were arrested while at their store. The police also conducted an unlawful search of the store. They are both being held in the Nanhai City Detention Center.

In July, the Benxi City "610 Office" held another brainwashing class in order to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners in the Weining Correctional Institute. It has been reported that the "610 Office" is planning another round of brainwashing. All Falun Dafa practitioners in the current mid-July class have been resolute, and none of them have cooperated with the evil.

Since July 13, 2003, Yan Weicheng, the Party secretary from the Political Judiciary Committee in Niuxintai Town, led police officers from the Niuxintai Police Station and other scoundrels from the local joint security team in conducting a large-scale arrest of Falun Dafa practitioners. They broke into practitioners' homes at will. Many practitioners have been forced out of their homes and have been wandering from place to place to avoid persecution. Even women and infants are not spared. The police forcibly took away a female Falun Dafa practitioner along with her four-month-old baby, which angered local residents. When the practitioner was sent to the Dabailou Detention Center in the Caibei area, the detention center refused to take them in as the baby was too young. Only then were the mother and baby released.

The Yuemingshan Forced Labor Camp is located in Anshan City, Liaoning Province. Under the instigation of Zhang Zhenyang, its political commissar, the labor camp is, for the second time, taking inhumane measures in attempting to brainwash almost sixty Falun Dafa practitioners since December 2002. Information channels have been tightly sealed off and details about the persecution are not yet available.

Zhang Lijun is a police officer from the Jiefang Road Police Station in Anshan City, Liaoning Province. In 2002, Zhang unlawfully arrested several Falun Dafa practitioners and sabotaged a few sites where Falun Gong materials were kept. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Mao Jingxian is from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. On July 9, she was abducted and brought to the Sanshui City Legal Cadres' Institute in Guangdong Province for brainwashing. A police officer first lied to her by saying "go to the neighborhood administration for a talk," and threatened that they were supposed to "use force if she refused to comply." As soon as Ms. Mao stepped out of her home, the police forcibly took her directly to the brainwashing center. At least four organizations were involved in Ms. Mao's abduction: the Tianhe District Party Committee, which is the primary conspirator, the Tianhe Division of the Police Department, which carried out the scheme, the neighborhood committee in the Nanyayuan community in the Tianhe area of Tianhe District, which offered assistance, and the Sanshui City Legal Cadres' Institute, which provided the venue.

Prior to July 20, the Canzhou City Police Department in Hebei Province started a new round of persecution targeting Falun Dafa practitioners. So far it has been reported that at least nine Falun Dafa practitioners have been harassed. Among them, Ms. Zhang Songfeng has been unlawfully taken away.

Recently, the newly appointed mayor, Gao Jinhao of Zhangjiakou City in Hebei Province, ordered the abduction of several Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners were sent to a brainwashing center for persecution. Since becoming the mayor last March, Gao has made the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners his top priority.

The Urumqi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Xinjiang has been relocated. Director Ba Xiaomei and brigade head Li Zongping continue to aggressively abuse Falun Dafa practitioners. We hope that Falun Dafa practitioners will collectively eliminate the evil behind-the-scenes factors in the persecution that exist in the forced labor camp.

Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Sunbo, Mr. Wu Shengmin, Ms. Zhou Haixia, Ms. Niu Mengling, and Mr. Bao Feng, who are all from Shihezi, Xinjiang, have continuously been persecuted since July 20, 1999. On the evening of July 19, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhang Shupeng and Mr. Xu Guowei were spaying signs reading, "Falun Dafa Is Good," and "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance," near where the Gaizhou City No. 13 Army is stationed. [Note: Without access to any typical means of communication such as newspapers, magazines, TVáor radio, Falun Gong practitioners have resorted to many creative and sometimes unusual methods for raising awareness among the Chinese people about the persecution.]

Army sentries spotted them and they were sent to the Gaizhou Police Department. Both practitioners are currently being unlawfully held in the Gaizhou City Detention Center. It has been reported that they will be sent directly to the labor camp without any due process. Mr. Zhang and Mr. Xu have refused to cooperate with the evil, and have been protesting with hunger strikes in which they abstain from water and food.
