AFP: Icelandic Lawsuit Accuses Top Chinese Leader Of Torture And Genocide

BEIJING, Sept 9 (AFP) - An Icelandic lawyer has filed a lawsuit against visiting Chinese official Luo Gan, accusing the top Communist Party leader of torture and genocide in the crackdown on Falungong, the group said Tuesday.

Nearly 150 people took part in a protest yesterday in Reykjaví« in front of the 'Culture House' while Luo Gan had lunch there with Minister of Justice Bj?Bjarnason. There was also a large group of Chinese supporters who turned up to cheer with the Chinese flag [...] Representatives of Amnesty International believe that the second group had been organised by the Chinese Embassy to obscure the protestors from Luo Gan. Several individuals and associations have filed charges against Gan for his crimes against humanity. According to Bjarnason, the charges will be looked into by the Icelandic government. Dr. Li Shao is one of the people pressing charges. His sister-in-law was arrested and sent to prison camp without a trial, and endured severe torture. A journalist from the daily 'Morgunbladid', who asked Gan a question about human rights, was surrounded by Chinese security guards immediately and transported from the premises.

Dafa Practitioner Ms. Xu Jiling from Shandong Province Is Tortured to Death

[Clearwisdom.net] Ms. Xu Jiling was a 59-year-old resident of Guanxian County, Shandong Province. She was violently persecuted by police and members of the Guanxian "610 office" [a bureau created specifically by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] because she persisted in practicing Falun Gong. Police arrested her at her home while she was in a very weak condition from the treatment she received in a previous detention. She was later sent to a hospital after she passed out, where she died in June 2003.
