The Facts of the Persecution

Recently, it has been reported that more than forty practitioners are detained at Fushun City Detention Center in Laioning Province. The detention center enforces the inhumane treatment of practitioners through the use of violence and torture. To confront the desperate struggle and brutality of the evil forces, we once again call for all Fushun City practitioners to keep sending forth righteous thoughts at 8pm and 9pm every day, to eliminate all the evil elements in other dimensions existing in Fushun City detention centers, including the First and Second Detention Centers, labor camps, jails and the Luotaizhuang Brainwashing Center.

The Truth and People's Hearts

A teacher in China clarified the truth of Falun Gong to his students while helping them in their classes.

During the summer school holiday, a teacher clarified the truth of Falun Gong, while taking time to help his students with their classes. A student declared that CCTV was shameless, after learning the facts of CCTV's tactics of deceiving audiences and slandering Dafa. When the image of Jiang appeared in the VCD of the truth about Falun Gong, a student shouted, "Jiang, you are a disgrace to the Chinese people." Another student said, "Most people are not aware of the truth. If all Chinese people knew the facts, Jiang would lose the respect of every Chinese person, in spite of how powerful he thinks he is."

I am an ordinary and elderly housewife. I did not read before. After I obtained Fa in August 2001, with Dafa's power and fellow practitioners' help, I can read every word in Zhuan Falun. Ever since my youth, my health has not been good. More than half of my husband's monthly salary was spent on my medical expenses. After I practiced Falun Gong for a while, the diseases that troubled me for so long left, my weight went back to normal, and my skin is a healthy color. I am energetic. I feel that our Teacher is right next to me every moment. The Teacher helps me by watching out for me and helping me to understand Fa. I encountered three car accidents, but each time I was not injured. It is because I practice Falun Gong. My family has witnessed so many great changes happening to me, so they respect the Fa and our Teacher. My husband now takes the initiative to do household chores to let me have more time to study the Fa. Friends who had not seen me for a long time asked me how it is that my health is so good now. I told them honestly, that I have benefited from practicing Falun Gong, and my improvement comes from the Fa.

News from Abroad

On August 16, a Japanese media source reported that the Alliance for Rescuing Yoko Kaneko came to Kagoshima City to raise awareness of rescuing Ms. Yoko Kaneko, who is being illegally detained in China for practicing Falun Gong. The commission distributed materials seeking support for her rescue, and collected signatures from supporters. Since June 2003, the commission has traveled to 47 countries to collect signatures and deliver letters of appeal to governments.

On August 8, Mid US News, a Chinese media source in Chicago, IL, published a half-page long article of dirty language to slander the founder of Falun Gong and practitioners. The New Century TV in Chicago interviewed a guest commentator, Dr. Tommy Xu, on this. Dr. Xu said that such an article appearing in the Chinese newspaper was an attack on the whole Chinese community. The freedom of the media is not exempt from ethics. No matter what the motivation is, the media should take all responsibility for publishing untruthful content.

Practitioners Exchange Insights

The warning from experts is that the SARS epidemic could explode anytime in the future. The related department in China stated, on August 16, that Beijing Ditan Hospital released the last group of SARS patients, and claimed that it symbolized the completion of preventing and curing SARS in Beijing. But in fact, the infectious disease that is a serious threat to human life is far from disappearing. A WHO [World Health Organization] expert, currently visiting Guangdong Province, warned that since the cause of SARS has not been found, SARS could explode again at any time.
