1. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Many Falun Gong Practitioners Are Persecuted
Mr. Ou Keshun, 40 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner who lived in Songyu Village, Linli County, Hunan Province. Before he practiced Falun Gong, he had leukemia and was bedridden. After practicing Falun Gong for three months, he was able to walk again; after six months, he returned to the fields to work and could carry as much as 50 kilograms (110 lbs.). He went to the hospital for a physical examination and was verified as completely recovered. However, at the end of 2000, he was abducted and sent to the Changde Drug Addiction Therapy Center to be brainwashed. He was fiercely beaten to death by a policeman called Liu. His sister later went to the police to seek justice, yet was also sentenced to three years in jail.
Ms. Yi Hong, 36 years old, is an employee of the Agriculture Bank in Dingcheng district, Changde City. Ms. Zhang Lan is 38 years old. Both of them are Falun Gong practitioners from Changde. At the end of December 2000, Ms. Zhang was abducted and sent to Changde Drug Addiction Therapy Center and subjected to brainwashing. Ms. Yi was detained in Dingcheng No. 2 Detention Center and Ms. Zhang was detained in the Wuling Detention Center. Ms. Yi Hong firmly refused to give up cultivation; she was sentenced at the beginning of 2002 and detained in Baimalong Labor Camp in Zhuzhou. Ms. Zhang Lan's whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Jiang Min, 50 years old, is a practitioner in Changde City. At the beginning of 2001, he was detained by the "610 Office" in Dingcheng No. 2 Detention Center and was subjected to brainwashing. Later, the "610 Office" forced his sister to bring him back and tried to persuade him to give up practicing Falun Dafa. Mr. Jiang refused. "610" officers arrested him again and sent him to the Dingcheng No. 1 Detention Center. On the way there, Zhou, the director of the security office, was killed in a car accident.
2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Two University Students Are Sentenced to Labor Camp
Mr. Shen Min, a Falun Gong practitioner from Baiyun District, is a student at the Guangzhou International Business and Foreign Language University. His grades are excellent and his classmates like him very much. He went to Beijing to appeal twice; when it was close to graduation, he was detained in the Guangzhou No. 1 Labor Camp. His determined righteous thoughts helped other practitioners to recover from brainwashing.
Mr. Tan Weichang, a Falun Gong practitioner, graduated from Zhongshan University. He was previously an employee of Guangzhou P&G Company, yet merely because he clarified the truth, he was sentenced to three years at Guangzhou No. 1 Labor Camp. There, he was forced to do heavy labor. Regardless, his determination to practice Falun Dafa did not diminish one bit.

Liang Lijian, a policeman in the education department in Baiyun District, is responsible for arresting Falun Gong practitioners. He has arrested Wu Zhiping and Lin Qing etc.
3. [Jingshan County, Hubei Province] Police Force-Feed Falun Gong practitioners and Forge Materials
On June 18, 2003, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dong Dengzhi and several other practitioners went to Sunqiao Town, Jingshan County, Hubei Province to clarify the truth and were reported by bad people. They were arrested by policemen and sent to Jingshan No. 1 Detention Center and persecuted. Ms. Dong started a hunger and water strike to protest the illegal detention and suffered savage forced-feeding and beating. Four to five persons pressed Ms. Dong down, and the jail doctor Xu Song stirred the tube around in her stomach and esophagus as so-called "forced-feeding", kicked her stomach and abdomen, causing her to nearly suffocate. Xu lashed Ms. Dong's face. Several policemen present, including Xia Mingfang did not say one word. A policewoman even poked fun. Family members were not allowed to visit.
The Sunqiao Town Police Branch and the Jingshan County Police Department joined forces to persecute Ms. Dong. They fabricated materials to frame her, which was later used as "evidence" to sentence her to two years in a labor camp.
Ms. Wang Yuchen, 48 years old, is a teacher at the Suizhou Gear Factory Dependent's School. During this year's summer vacation she brought some truth-clarifying materials to her mother's hometown in Baokang County, Hubei Province. On July 20 when she distributed those materials, she was reported by someone and was illegally arrested by the local police. She was detained in Baokang. No family members are allowed to visit her. She is still detained, and the details of her situation are not clear.
4. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Xiao Guobing Is Detained In Jiutai Labor Camp
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xiao Guobing is detained in Jiutai Labor Camp, Team Three. There, he stopped policemen from playing a video slandering Teacher and Dafa, resisted the persecution by refusing to do forced labor, and they therefore extended his prison term by ten months. Mr. Xiao is now on a hunger strike to protest. He was thrown into a small cell with his hands shackled, and is suffering forced-feeding and other tortures.
5. [Jilin Province] Jailed Falun Gong Practitioners Firmly Deny the Old Forces' Arrangements
During the July 20 anniversary, several Falun Gong practitioners detained in the Jilin Female Jail Education Team completely denied the old forces' arrangements, refused to acknowledge that Dafa practitioners are guilty, and refused to put on nametags. Therefore, the policemen retaliated by forbidding family members to visit them and forbidding them to save money to buy items for their daily needs.
In addition, the 'education' team changed their usual attitude, and adopted a hypocritical means to attempt to confuse Falun Gong practitioners. They changed the heavy forced labor work to learning to weave woolen sweaters. However, there are still two one-hour "study" sessions, one in the morning and one at night. Policemen frequently talk with practitioners, superficially as though they care about them, whereas in fact it is for brainwashing. They attempted to have Falun Gong practitioners automatically become "transformed".

6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] The Chief of Reformatory Center Obstructs The Investigation
Recently, a policeman who has a sense of justice in Jinzhou Labor Camp reported to the Liaoning Judicatory Department that police in Jinzhou Reform Center beat Falun Gong practitioners and caused the fracture of two ribs. Liaoning Judicatory Department did not notify the Jinzhou Reformatory Center in advance and came to investigate the incident, demanding to see the Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured. The director of the Reform Center, Zhang Haiping tried to obstruct the investigation. Since he could not prevent it, he found another person to pose as the practitioner in question, thereby deceiving the investigators.

7. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Fang Zhengping Is Persecuted
On the morning of August 26, 2003, Mr. Fang Zhengping was unlawfully arrested by police as he distributed truth-clarifying materials around Xihe Town. The police even took him back to his home and ransacked it. Many people saw that Mr. Fang was in a lot of pain since he was cuffed, and his face even became misshaped. The evil people who participated the ransacking included Li, Zhou Xin, Yang Wei and Fa. Mr. Fang is now detained in the Xihe Town Detention Center.
8. [Jilin Province] Many Practitioners Are Illegally Arrested
Mr. Zhao Fuxiang, 41 years old, is the previous deputy director of the Meihe Labor Camp. Because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong he was dismissed from public service. On the night of May 30, 2003, Mr. Zhao was arrested as he distributed truth-clarifying materials. Because at that time SARS was spreading, he was slandered as participating in "sabotage activity" and the false news was broadcasted on local TV. From the TV images it could be seen that Mr. Zhao Fuxiang's face and head were injured and his expression was dull. He is now detained in the Beishan Detention Center in Chaoyang Town, Huinan County.
Ms. Ma Jingyuan, 50 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner in Changyi area in Jilin Province. She lives in Qianfengyuan area at Lianhua Street. On July 10, 2003, policemen used a skeleton key to open her house and arrested her illegally. Now she is detained in Yueshan Road Detention Center in Jilin City. The details are under investigation.
Ms. Wang Baolan is a Falun Gong practitioner from Antu County, Jilin Province. She has been detained in a brainwashing class for one month and has been subjected to brainwashing.
