Facts of the Persecution

On August 25, 2003, the "610 Offices" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] from the city and county in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province kept on abducting Falun Gong practitioners and sending them to a centralized brainwashing facility in a Xinchang Poer village. Brainwashing sessions were forced on them there. Many Dafa practitioners' families were already in extremely difficult conditions due to the prolonged persecution. One practitioner's spouse was sent to a forced labor camp, leaving only their teenage child and her seventy some year-old sick mother at home. The brainwashing sessions of the city or county usually include 8 to10 kidnapped practitioners and last more than a month; the "610 Office" usually have three of four people taking turns brainwashing practitioners at all times.

Since July 20,1999, several people from the "610 Office" and the Judicial and Public Security Department in Duyun, Guizhou City kidnapped and imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners; several dozen practitioners were sentenced to prison terms. They frequently kidnapped practitioners and sent them to a "brainwashing base-camp" to carry out brainwashing, instill slanderous propaganda, extort money, and try to get them to implicate other innocent people. They persecuted practitioners' family members, and in some cases, even instigated them to participate in the process of persecution. Practitioners' work units were being forced to stop practitioners' paychecks and to provide personnel to participate in the persecution. Police stations, street watchers, and work units were also organized to monitor practitioners. However, the brainwashing scheme has totally failed due to the firm resistance by the practitioners.

On September 13, the annual Pasadena Health Fair in Southern California invited local Falun Gong practitioners to demonstrate Falun Gong to the local residents. Victor Gordo, a City Councilman, upon seeing Falun Gong practitioners said: "I support you!" During the activities, which lasted for four hours , many residents came to inquire about the local practice site and introductory classes, and also got Falun Dafa pamphlets. After watching the demonstration, a local elementary school principle proposed that practitioners teach Falun Gong at his school. Practitioners met with the assistants for member of the State Legislature Carol Liu and State Senator Jack Scott; practitioners also introduced Falun Dafa to them and thanked them for their past support and hoped they would help rescue Charles Li.

Practitioner Exchanges Insight and Experiences

My Sister's Cultivation Path: My sister used to get sick all the time; upon cultivating Falun Dafa, she became free from illness. After violent persecution of Falun Dafa initiated by the Jiang regime, my sister still firmly believed in Dafa and participated in the provincial peaceful petition, appealed to the government in Beijing, attended group Fa study every night, and distributed pamphlets she made herself. She always said," Dafa blessed me in so many ways, how can I be a good Dafa disciple, if I can't prove Dafa is good?" In 2000, my sister and another Dafa practitioner went to the countryside to clarify the truth about Dafa and were followed. She was able to escape before they brought her to court the next day. On the night of August 18, 2001, my sister went into the countryside far away from home to hang up Dafa banners and was imprisoned in a detention center. Her persecutors beat her for several days until she could not even get up from her bed, but still they forced her to work. They continued to question her frequently. She has truly given up the attachment to life and death. Even the director of the "610 Office" was impressed by her attitude and said, "This woman is really amazing!" In May 2002, the local court sentenced my sister to three and a half years in prison, where she is still being held.

Radio Free Asia reported on September 14, 2003: several U.S. Congressmen sent letters to the White House supporting the rescue of Charles Li, a U.S. citizen and Falun Gong practitioner. Charles Li was arrested and sentenced to a three-year prison term when he went to China.

On fawanghuihui.org, a website investigating the crimes committed in persecuting Falun Gong, practitioners from the Zhangjiakou, Hebei area made the following announcements: 1. Eleven innocent Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted to death. 2.Party members at Wei County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province participated in persecuting practitioners. 3. The lies and crimes of the party committee secretary of Zhi County, Zhangjiakou City.

A letter to the police at the Hulan Jail: When we learned that you were taking orders from Jiang's regime to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, we were deeply worried about your futures. You are being used by others to destroy your own futures without being aware of it, and are still participating in this crime with your entire being. We hope you'll wake up soon and won't support the Jiang regime's persecution. Which is more precious: money or your eternal life?
