(Clearwisdom.net) On December 31, 2003, an annual grand celebration of New Year's Eve was held in Forest Park in St Louis. Though it was cold, over 70,000 people attended the celebration with high sprits.
On the lawn beside the Art Museum, a group of Falun Gong practitioners practiced Falun Gong exercises under the candle light. Their peace and graceful gestures invited passers-by to ask for information.
Ms. Liu said, "We wish to celebrate the New Year practicing the exercises and informing people that right now in China, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are being brutally persecuted for persisting in their beliefs. Falun Gong practitioner Liu Chengjun was tortured to death by Jiang's regime right after Christmas for exposing the facts of the persecution. US citizen Charles Li is in Nanjing Prison for attempting to expose Jiang's lies."
When the countdown reached the year 2004, colorful fireworks exploded in the air above a Ferris Wheel, and cheers filled in the park as the New Year began.
