(Clearwisdom.net) Over the last five years, in order to validate the Fa, clarify the truth, and save people, I went to Beijing twice to appeal. The government officials reacted by detaining me many times, extorting money from me, searching my home, and illegally suspending my retirement pension for two years. I am nearly 70-years-old, and the continual persecution greatly damaged my mental and physical health. I am physically disabled and financially without means to live.
In answer to practitioners' questions concerning Hong Kong and German police's unreasonable requests in "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U. S. West Fa Conference," Master said,
"When something has negatively impacted or harmed Dafa, you should also seriously resolve it using everyday people's laws."
I decided to sue those who have persecuted me during the last few years. In the complaint and appeal letter, I listed the facts of the persecution, gave the names of the government agencies and individuals that persecuted me, and spelled out the legal responsibility they should bear. I sent copies of the letter to the police, the public prosecutor's office, the court, the People's Congress, and the political and judiciary committees at all levels of government. Some of my family members were worried about what I was doing and were fearful that I might bring on new troubles. I felt very calm. I didn't do anything illegal, and it is the government officials who violated the law. They persecuted me without any cause, and I will not accept it.
My eldest daughter and I consulted a few lawyers in the provincial capital. Their responses were consistent. They all responded, "If you promise not to practice Falun Gong, we then will take your case." Some said, "We all know that you were wronged. As long as you promise not to practice Falun Gong, we will win the case for you. But if you don't say it, there is nothing we can do. Falun Gong is banned by the central government, and we work for the government and need the job, so you should understand our position."
A lawyer named Li told my daughter in private, "To persecute Falun Gong is a farce in China's history. I will fight for your father, but we have to say that he is not practicing anymore." My daughter told him that I wouldn't agree. The lawyer gave his business card to my daughter and said, "If you convince him, come back to talk to me. I guarantee that you will win."
Half a month later, two officials from the town's education commission and an acquaintance, whom we had met in the past at Fa study and who had since enlightened along an evil path, visited me. The town official told me, "The mayor was concerned about your letter and asked us to come to verify your position. Are you still practicing Falun Gong?" I replied, "Yes I am. Didn't you read my letter? I didn't say I don't practice. I complained that their persecution is against the law."
Later on I shared the truth with them and told them how I benefited both physically and mentally from Falun Dafa. I also explained to them that Falun Dafa teaches people to be compassionate. To persecute good people is to commit a crime. I also told them the extent of the persecution against me. Finally I asked them, "Did I do anything against the law? Did I do anything wrong? Is there any rationale for you to treat an innocent old man like that? Is there any humanity? Is there any justice?" They asked the person who enlightened along an evil path to talk to me. Before leaving, they told me, "You think about it carefully, and we will talk to our leaders." They knew they would not get what they wanted.
It is necessary to mention that my complaint letter was published on the Minghui website (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom website) through local practitioners' efforts. Some practitioners also used my letter as truth clarification material to expose the crimes committed by local wicked people. After reading the letter, some people concluded, "It is worth it to sue, and he will win!"
A few days later, officials from the town government again came to visit me, with four months of retirement pension that had been illegally withheld. They asked me to write a statement guaranteeing to renounce Falun Dafa, otherwise they would take the money back. "I will not write it. You can take the money back," I told them. They almost begged me, "The leaders really care about you. You have to give a response, any kind of response." Before leaving, they told me, "You will get your pension beginning this month." At that moment, my complaint had succeeded in accomplishing the first step.
From this experience I felt the enormous strength of Dafa practitioners as a whole. My own righteous faith and actions plus all Dafa disciples' solid cooperation formed an indestructible-as-diamond and a rock-solid-particle entity.
In "Also in a Few Words," Master said,
"Indestructible righteous faith in the cosmos's Truth forms benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Diamond-Like Bodies, it frightens all evil, and the light of Truth it emanates makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate. However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is."
