(Clearwisdom.net) On November 6, 2004, the Yilan County High School Clubs Expo was held on a plaza in Chungshan Park, Luodong Township. The Yilan Business Vocational School and the Luodong Industrial Vocational School both had conspicuous display boards about the rapid development of Falun Gong Clubs in their schools.

The display tables had a lot of Falun Gong introductory materials, truth-clarification CDs, and free bookmarks for visitors. Many people were eager to get a bookmark. The schoolmaster of Huideng Middle School, Mr. Hong, practices Falun Gong, and he initially helped to set up the Expo. Another schoolmaster, Mr. Chen, said he would like to see the Falun Gong exercise demonstration. A local government official named Huang learned the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. He condemned the Jiang faction's viciousness and said that China should not suppress this group of good people.
Teacher Liu from the Yilan Business Vocational School said that the Falun Gong Club in that school was established in February 2003. Initially, 95 students registered. Every semester, the club holds seven meetings, two hours each. The members use their lunchtime to study the Fa (1) and practice the exercises. Though time is short, these young people progressed and their experiences were very moving. One senior student was facing the national college entry test but he couldn't concentrate on studying. The day after he did the Falun Gong exercises for the first time, he told other club members that he was able to calm down and study quietly. One girl said that she didn't take a nap as she usually did during the lunch break, but did the Falun Gong exercises instead. She found that she was more energetic and more attentive in her afternoon classes than she was before.
One teacher said she found that those students who practiced Falun Gong were more open and considerate of others. They took more initiative in doing things and got along well with other students. Another teacher said that by chance he noticed that among those Falun Gong Club members who often read Zhuan Falun (2), one had the highest score of the school in the National College Entry Test, one had the highest score in English and one had a perfect score in Mathematics. These teachers believed that "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" was the main factor that made these students have both good academic scores and a high level of morality.
In the two "Welcome New Students" events of last year and this year, the Falun Gong Club performed an exercise demonstration, and performed a short drama to clarify the truth. The club also invited the Falun Gong practitioners who were undergraduate and graduate students in Taiwan University and Tsing Hua University to share their experiences. Teacher Liu also mentioned the benefits she obtained from practicing Falun Dafa. She said that after long years of teaching, a fixed mindset limited or distorted her concern about the students' issues and problems. After practicing Falun Dafa, she was able to listen to the students with an open and more thoughtful mind.
In Luodong Industrial Vocational School, four teachers had practiced Falun Gong for four years, including the director of Architecture. One of the teachers, Mr. Li, said he applied the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" into his daily teaching work and used this principle to educate students and his children. Before, he was very strict with students but now he was more compassionate when resolving conflicts.
Teacher Zeng said the benefits of practicing Falun Gong were very obvious. In Taiwan, the government and people are appreciating it more and more. But on the other side of the strait, the Jiang regime has persecuted Falun Gong for over five years. There, the teachers who persist in their belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" are dismissed, and students expelled from school. Many practitioners have been persecuted to death. Comparing the different experiences of the two places, he said his heart was crying.
