(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Hao Lihua is a 40-year-old teacher from Jianbei Kindergarten in the Shunyi District of Beijing.

At around 6:00 pm on April 1, 2004, Ms. Hao gave several VCD's containing facts about Falun Gong to two young men near her apartment building. The two men were actually officers from the Shiyuanbei District Security Department and they called the local police. Policemen from the Guangming Police Station arrested Ms. Hao. That night they sent Ms. Hao to Shunyi Detention Center.
On April 15, 2004, Ms. Hao Lihua was transferred to Fengtai Detention Center. On that same day she was officially arrested. While she was detained in the Fengtai Detention Center, police guards led by Mi Jingjing tortured her severely.
On June 22, 2004, Ms. Hao Lihua was transferred back to Shunyi Detention Center.
On August 13, 2004, the Shunyi District Court started a trial on her case. Because they didn't have enough evidence, they couldn't sentence her. On September 30, however, after six months of illegal detention, the court sentenced her to three years in jail based on item 300 of Chinese Criminal Law. Ms. Hao Lihua refused to accept the sentence and has appealed to the higher-level court.
Hao Lihua started her job as a kindergarten teacher in 1985. She is kind to others and diligent in her work. Especially since she started practicing Falun Gong in 1995, she has treated her students like her own children. The parents of her students have praised her highly.
In March 2000, she went to Tiananmen Square to peacefully appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong and was detained for one month in Shunyi Detention Center. On November 20, 2000, she again spoke out about the facts regarding Falun Gong at Tiananmen Square and was abducted and sent to the detention center in Dongcheng District. She was then sent to a forced labor camp for one year.
Ms. Hao Lihue's daughter is a 16-year-old high school student. With Ms. Hao in jail, her husband's income is not enough to support the family.
