The Municipal Hospital in Sanhe City
Some officials at the Municipal Hospital of Sanhe City in Hebei Province are very active in persecuting the Falun Gong practitioner employees. They have detained practitioners many times, searched their homes, confiscated Falun Gong books, deprived them of their salaries, and even gone to practitioners' homes to disturb their daily lives.
The hospital officials have colluded with the officials of the local "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.]. They have gone to practitioners' homes and their relatives' homes to arrest practitioners many times. They have even gone to the workplaces of practitioners' spouses and the schools of practitioners' children to threaten them and damage their relationships. This has caused practitioner Ms. Guo Chunying and her husband to divorce. Ms. Guo Chunying has been detained at the Municipal Detention Center many times. She was beaten badly and suffered from corporal punishment. She was also put in shackles for many days. In November 2000 Ms. Guo Chunying and Ms. Xue Shuqing were fired because they refused to give up their belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. They responded by going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In September 2001 Guo Chunying was arrested and sent to the Tangshan City Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Xue Shuqing was forced to stay away from her home for about a year to avoid further persecution. Chen Liang, the Secretary of the Communist Party at the Hospital said many vicious words to the remaining practitioner employees. Even now the hospital is still refusing to resume the legal rights of the two practitioners.
The Hospital in Downtown Sanhe City
The hospital in downtown Sanhe City has treated its practitioner employees inhumanly under the supervision of Sun Diangao, secretary of the Communist Party. They have detained Falun Gong practitioners more than 10 times. Officials have even gone to the practitioners' homes to disturb them and confiscated their Falun Gong books.
In December 2000 practitioners Cao Yinghua, Yang Yuling, and Liu Zhen went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were arrested and sent back to the Municipal Detention Center. In September 2001 Fu Yuling was sent to the Municipal Detention Center for a few days, and was then transferred to the brainwashing center to receive forced brainwashing. Meng Qingxiang was also sent to the Municipal Detention Center many times, where she was badly beaten. In July 2001 she was sent to the Tangshan City Forced Labor Camp. Because the results of her medical exam didn't meet the requirements, she was sent back the same day. In November 2000 Kang Jintai was sent to the Wanzhuang Forced Labor Camp of Langfang City and sentenced to a 2-year term. In early March 2003 the policemen searched Kang's home, as well as his sister's home, and confiscated three personal computers and other property. The policemen also arrested over ten people and interrogated them. They tried to force them to give up the practice of Falun Gong. The policemen threatened to give Kang Jingtai a heavy sentence and make their family members lose their jobs. They also extorted 10,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] from Kang's family. Zhang Shanglin (former vice director of the police department) and Tian Jingyun (director of the South Town Police Station) split the money, and each one of them got 5,000 Yuan. Ms. Kang Jingdi was arrested and sent to the detention center, and was then transferred to the brainwashing center for a total of 25 days. Kang Jingtai was detained for over a month.
Juyang Clinic
Ms. Gao Guiyun of the Juyang Clinic was arrested and deprived of her salary many times. Li Wanqing, the former director of the clinic, arrested practitioners at their homes many times, and he also monitored practitioners and disturbed their relatives. In July 2000 Ms. Gao Guiyun was fined for appealing for Falun Gong. Later, in December 2000, she was arrested and detained at the Municipal Detention Center. In June 2001 Ms. Gao Guiyun was arrested by officials of the town administration. In September she was sent to the brainwashing center.
The Women and Children Health Clinic
Ms. Deng Xuemei of the Women and Children Health Clinic was illegally arrested many times. Her home was searched and her property confiscated again and again. In 2001 the local police authorities even hired someone to monitor her daily life. Ms. Deng experienced severe beatings many times. One time a few policemen broke into her home without notice. They assaulted her, hitting her in the face, with no explanation. Then they took the keys from her purse and started turning her home upside down. Ms. Deng was then sent to the Beicheng Police Station. Zhao Yongkang (former supervisor of the police station), Yan Jianshu (former political instructor of the police station), and other policemen beat and shocked her for a long time. Her whole body was covered with injuries. In September 2001 Ms. Deng was sent to Tangshan City Forced Labor Camp.
