(Clearwisdom.net) On February 6, 2004, Dafa practitioners in Calgary, Canada peacefully gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate, telling the local people that Deputy Consul General Pan Xinchun was convicted by Ontario Superior Court of Justice for libeling Falun Gong, and calling for the Chinese diplomats to immediately stop inciting hatred and defaming Falun Gong in Canada.
At noon on February 6, Calgary Dafa practitioners arrived at the Chinese Consulate and unfolded banners reading "Stop Incitement of Hatred against Falun Gong in Canada," "Dep. Consul General Pan Xinchun Sued for Libel, " and so on. They passed out flyers to passersby, and delivered a letter to all the officials at the Chinese Consulate in Calgary, calling upon them to fulfill their duty, and stop all actions of slandering Falun Gong.
Toronto Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Joel Chipkar recently filed a lawsuit against Pan Xinchun for libel, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice found in favor of Chipkar on February 3, 2004. The judge awarded Chipkar $1,000 (CAD) in damages and $10,000 for legal costs. This is the first case that Falun Gong practitioners successfully sued a Chinese consular official for persecuting Falun Gong overseas, and also the first case that a Western court convicted a Chinese diplomat for spreading hatred against Falun Gong. Chipkar expressed that anyone who participates in persecuting and slandering Falun Gong in Canada, no matter what social status he is, will be held responsible for his crimes.
Practitioners taking part in the activity expressed that in the past four plus years of persecution against Falun Gong by Jiang's group, its accomplices overseas have been making trouble to assist the persecution in China. They, as diplomats, spread information slandering Falun Gong, or used and manipulated overseas media to concoct lies to mislead the public, and incite hatred or hire thugs to threaten and harass Falun Gong practitioners. This is all to instigate the hatred of overseas Chinese and government officials of foreign governments against Falun Gong, extend the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong overseas, and then repeat the slanderous news in the media overseas to China, to "support" its persecution of Falun Gong in China.
On February 1, 2004, the World Daily and other media outlets reported the news that sent strong shockwaves worldwide: the French police arbitrarily arrested and roughly treated dozens of Falun Gong practitioners from the US, Germany, Denmark and Taiwan during Chinese president Hu Jintao's visit to Paris. This is another example of China's exporting persecution of Falun Gong.
In the end, the practitioners called upon the Canadian media and people to no longer believe the Chinese authorities' slanderous reports on Falun Gong, and not to be deceived by their lies and tempted by their economic incentives. They should safeguard human rights and stop the killings. In actuality, the world's people know that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice based on the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." Falun Gong practitioners have been praised for their peacefulness and rationality. The Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners is not only the trampling upon the human rights of the Chinese people in China, but also the persecution of human beings' belief and conscience.
