(Clearwisdom.net) Liu Zheng, chief of Section 1 in the Guye District Police Department, is very active in the persecution of Falun Gong. Under his directives, police officers ransacked quite a few practitioners' homes and paraded some of the older practitioners through the streets to publicly humiliate them. They have detained them, sent them to labor camps and have extorted payments from them. The police's actions imposed severe financial burdens on many Dafa practitioners and caused them mental anguish. Following are the particulars:
On January 16, 2001, the heads of local police stations in Guye District ordered local police to go to Dafa practitioners' homes and told them, "The head of the police station wants to see you. Just go and have a brief talk, then you can come back." When the practitioners went to the police stations they were instead sent to a brainwashing center located in Guye District Detention Center. They detained 19 practitioners. The oldest one was about 60 years old, others were in their 30's. All had old parents and young children at home. They were forced to pay 300 Yuan as "room and board" for the brainwashing session. This happened around the time of the Chinese New Year and brought their families tremendous pain.
On July 13, 2001, Liu Zheng directed police to handcuff over a dozen elderly women and paraded them through the streets. The practitioners did not yield to the persecutors. Policeman Wang Lei abused 63-year-old lady Lu Xiuying and crippled her leg, which took a long time to recover. The Dafa practitioners who were publicly humiliated and paraded for a whole morning included Wang Cuiqin, Zhang Xiujuan, Tang Chunfang, Zhao Yanru, Lu Xiuying, and Peng Xiufen and others.
