(Clearwisdom.net) In October 2002, an inspiring news item reached China. While Jiang Zemin was visiting Chicago, Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit in a U.S. federal court, charging Jiang Zemin with the crimes of genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity. This news reminded me of an event that happened in December 2000. That was when 99 Dafa practitioners who were abducted into the 4^th division of Shijiazhuang Labor Camp in Mainland China jointly filed charges against Jiang Zemin. I was among the 99 Dafa practitioners at that time.

In a free democratic country, it is easy for a citizen to file charges against a leading official. But in China, especially in the darkness of a prison without freedom, it is very difficult. At that time, almost every Dafa practitioner was watched over by a criminal inmate, and we were even restricted while using the bathroom. Dafa practitioners of different groups and different teams within the labor camp were not allowed to talk to each other. It was under that situation that there emerged a lawsuit charging Jiang Zemin for his crimes. At that time, when the division tried to force us to go to the "legal" classes, we did not want to go; but the head of a team said, "It is useful to take a serious look; [with the knowledge] a citizen can file charges against a government official." This caught our attention.

With arduous effort, many Dafa practitioners signed their names on the indictment, taking the risk that they might even lose their lives. The final number of practitioners who signed the indictment surprised us; 99 practitioners had signed it. This caught the attention of the central government, and they investigated every one of the Dafa practitioners. This indictment was submitted by going through every official level and completely followed the current legal procedure in Mainland China; it was first submitted to the team, then to the division, then to the labor camp, and was finally submitted to the Superior Court of China. The indictment, according to the current law, discussed the criminal conduct of Jiang's regime. However, [because of this], Dafa practitioners Zhu Hong and Liu Juhua were taken away, and they were later secretly sentenced to four years imprisonment.

The labor camp thought that this would stop us from seeking protection for our legal rights using the law. But to their surprise, more indictments by individual practitioners arrived at the 4^th division head's office one after another. Probably scared of being accused by their superiors, the labor camp did not pass these indictments to their superiors; instead, they put them into the records of each of the Dafa practitioners.

Some of the Dafa practitioners who signed their names on the indictment died from torture. One of them was Zhang Xiaoru, a Dafa practitioner from Handan City. Zhang Xiaoru was detained in Group One of the 3^rd team. Some are still illegally detained, suffering from various kinds of torture.

Even in this kind of evil environment, Dafa practitioners kept telling everyone the true facts about Falun Gong in different ways.

Because the team leaders continued to beat and curse people, we went on a hunger strike and told them that it is wrong to beat and curse people.

One Dafa practitioner often collected cloth strips; she washed the strips and stored them. One day, as she was going to be released on bail for medical treatment, she held up a banner she had made that expressed the feelings from the bottom of her heart: "Falun Dafa is good!" The team head tried to recall her but finally let her go home.

One Dafa practitioner spent many nights under her blanket in the dim light of the monitoring lights and embroidered a banner that said "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Tolerance." Later she held up the banner. She was brutally beaten.

Another Dafa practitioner wrote "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Tolerance" and "Dafa is Good!" on the back of his clothes with tooth paste; the writing was displayed when he practiced the Falun Gong exercises.

On the Eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year, shouts of "Falun Dafa is good!" could be heard all around, at a place above the 4^th division. This continued until daylight on the second day.

Persuaded by Dafa practitioners, many police officers came to understand the truth. They gave up of doing evil and turned to doing good. Many inmates started to practice Falun Gong.

Now, the head of the evil that persecuted Dafa and Dafa practitioners has finally been sued in court. I hope that the charge will be a success, and that Jiang Zemin will be prosecuted and punished as soon as possible.
