Facts of the Persecution

-- Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Aihua was held in a brainwashing class and detention center by the Xiantao City "610 Office" (1) in Hubei Province. There she endured both mental and physical abuse. On December 15, 2001, she was locked in the detention center again for passing out truth-clarifying materials. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecutory treatment, and was brutally force-fed. Although she developed breast cancer, the evil still would not release her. The police wanted to extort her of another 8,000 Yuan (2), despite the fact that she had already paid nearly 10,000 Yuan.

-- My name is Ms. Tang Chuanlian. I am a 64-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner, and am a resident of the Yangchongchasha Forest Farm. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Dafa began, the "610 Office" often came to harass and threaten me. They sent me to the Shayang Labor Camp for one year, where I was tortured by being forced to stand for long periods with my legs bent in an awkward position. I was also;;; shocked with electric batons, handcuffed, deprived of sleep, not allowed to talk, and drug addicts were assigned to watch me.

-- Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ma Chunzhi from Tianjin City was abducted and taken to a local police substation five times. Many people witnessed police squeezing her into the trunk of their car. On January 1, 2001 she went to Tiananmen Square to validate the Fa. Just because of one sentence she said, "Falun Dafa is great," she was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp, and her term was subsequently extended. She has gone from having a large stature to being very thin and weak. She has also been subjected to a lot of mental abuse. On May 15, 2003, she found out that her friends and family had spent 10,000 Yuan for her release from detainment.

-- Falun Dafa practitioners detained in the Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp (Formerly the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp) are both mentally and physically abused by police. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Guofang was tortured to death there on March 15, 2004. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Jing was beaten there until both of her legs were disabled. Currently, both of her legs remain paralyzed. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Shi Shufang has been tied up on an iron chair (3) for 33 days, and is near death.

(1) "610 Office": an agency that systematically persecutes Falun Gong with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) Yuan is the Chinese currency; the average monthly pay of an urban worker is 500 Yuan.
