Persecution Facts

Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Muying, a retired teacher from Tangshan City, went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa, and was illegally detained twice in two years. Her home was ransacked, she was demoted and her salary was deducted, she was fined, and her total financial loss is about 27,000 Yuan (1) from the persecution. Muying was tortured until her 12^th vertebrae became deformed, causing her excruciating pain.

On March 9, 2004 Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cui Weina, an employee of the No. 54 Research Institute of China's Electronics Technology Group Corporation in Shijiazhuang City, was illegally abducted at work by officers from the No. 373 Police Station, now called the Kewanlu Police Station. The perpetrators sent her to Hebei Capital City's brainwashing class. This is the second time she has been abducted.

On March 10, 2004, police abducted Dafa practitioner Liu Wenxiu and sent her to Hebei Capital City's brainwashing class. Recently, Liu Wenxiu's mother fell gravely ill, a situation that called for immediate care. Ms. Liu Wenxiu was released.

Recent persecution cases in Zunhua City, Hebei Province:

Dafa practitioner Li Guoyan was arrested and sent to the Baozidian Police Station on March 2, 2004, and later to the No. 1 Detention Center in Zunhua City.

The police went to the home of Dafa practitioner Li Guoxia twice on March 2 and March 4, 2004 and tried to arrest him, but failed. Li Guoxia was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution.

On March 3, 2004 perpetrators abducted Dafa practitioner Zhao Cuilan and sent her to the Xisanli Detention Center in Zunhua City. They later ransacked the home of her sister, Ms. Zhao Yilan, and confiscated Master's picture.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Han Ying lived in Baochi District, Tianjin City. Eight members of his family went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. In September 1999 he was unlawfully detained for appealing, and all eight members of his family were held in a detention center. One month later, Han Ying was sentenced to three years of forced labor, which expired on September 3, 2002, but was extended by six months. Han Ying's sister, Han Guihua, was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor, and the six other family members were released after paying a 5,000 Yuan fine. In 2000, Han Ying's wife was sentenced to four years in prison and is still being held at the Tianjin Female Prison. Han Ying's sister-in-law was sentenced to three years in prison.

Dafa practitioner Bian Chunyan from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province recounts a personal persecution experience:

In October 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was arrested. I was sent to a detention center and held for nine days. I was then sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Fuxin Forced Labor Camp. Guards at the labor camp shock Dafa practitioners with electric batons, torture them with the "riding an airplane" torture (forcing them to raise their arms with their head lowered), deprive them of sleep, force them to step on Master's picture, and other such violations of human dignity. The guards ordered collaborators (2) to persuade the steadfast Dafa practitioners to give up Dafa practice. In January 2002 I was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp to be persecuted. I had done things a practitioner should not do because I had many attachments that were not given up. Subsequently, in May 2003, I published a solemn declaration on Minghui.net and rejoined the current of Fa rectification. Later, I was sent to a detention center and held for a month. I was released after the police extorted 3,000 Yuan from my family.

Perpetrators and Their Crimes

Yan Zhiyou, head of Qiaodong District Police Department in Zhangjiakou City, and Ma Fuwei, former head of the police department, persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Around midnight in early November 2003 [Chinese lunar calendar], Zhang Yanjun, deputy head of Zanhuang County's "610 Office" (3) in Shijiazhuang City, along with Liu Guishu, deputy Party Secretary from Zhangleng Town led a group of thugs into the yard of 60-year-old Dafa practitioner Tian Chenxiang, abducted him, and sent him to the county brainwashing class. At around 7:00 p.m. one day in March 2004, perpetrators led by Liu Guishu abducted Dafa practitioner Ma Jingwen from his home. They twisted his hands behind his back and sent him to the county brainwashing class.

Qu Zuojun is the head of the No. 10 Oil Factory Police Station in Chaoyanggou Town of Daqing City. In June 2003 he assigned police to follow Dafa practitioner Liu Zhiqiang for a week. They abducted Liu Zhiqiang and Cao Junrong when Mr. Liu went to visit practitioner Cao Junrong at his home. The next day Qu Zuojun sent the two practitioners to Zhaozhou County's Detention Center. One month later they were sent to the Hongweixing brainwashing class in Daqing City.

(1) Yuan is the Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan.

(2) Collaborators are former Falun Gong practitioners who went astray after undergoing torture and brainwashing.

(3) "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
