(Clearwisdom.net) May 13 was World Falun Dafa Day, and the Governor of Michigan has proclaimed May 13 to be Falun Dafa Day in Michigan from here after. On May 15, Michigan Falun Dafa practitioners celebrated this special day in a park at Ann Arbor with friends and relatives.

The beautiful park is right next to the University of Michigan, and it was one of the first Falun Gong practice sites in Michigan. Early in the morning, practitioners set up a photo exhibition, a Falun Dafa Day banner and a picnic tent. Practitioners and their friends and relatives brought a lot balloons and folded many lotus flowers and pinwheels to decorate the practice site. Many tourists were attracted to the site, and they were able to see the truth-clarifying photos and other Dafa materials. Many of them already have a very positive understanding of Falun Dafa. While the persecution has lasted nearly 5 years, people have gradually come to understand the truth and appreciate the practitioners' kindness and compassion.
Michigan state representative Aldo Vagnozzi came to the park to congratulate the practitioners and expressed his support to Falun Dafa. In his childhood, Mr. Vagnozzi's family also experienced a dictator's persecution. He expressed his respect to the practitioners for their peaceful appeals in spite of the violent persecution they were subjected to in China.
Many of the Michigan practitioners live far apart from each other, and this was a happy reunion for some of them. Chinese and western practitioners sang several songs such as "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Coming for you" together. Some female practitioners performed the beautiful Tang attire dance, and young practitioners from the Minghui School recited several poems from Hongyin. Many tourists were touched by the practitioners' sincerity, and some stopped to chat with the practitioners.
Michigan practitioners respectfully wished revered Master a happy birthday and sent their gratitude for Master's protection and guidance. Practitioners also thanked their relatives and friends for their understanding and support. We will live up to Master's teaching and use compassion and righteous thoughts to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to everyone.
