(Clearwisdom.net) In China, it is no small matter if a group is described as "organized;" there are subtle implications in this designation. One of the meanings of "organized" is that the group has some kind of political goals, and the group is alleged to be against the Communist Party. Therefore in China, the word "organized" is used not only as a label but also as a weapon to be used against people.
"Organized" is one of the most classic frame-ups imposed by Jiang and his followers against Falun Gong practitioners. Strangely, even in some Canadian Chinese communities, we have also frequently heard some people describe Falun Gong practitioners as "organized," with a negative undertone.
What's wrong with the term "organized?" Based on statistical data, there are 180,000 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other grass-roots groups with various kinds of structures, run by people in Canada. Nobody feels that these groups are "organized" in the Chinese sense -- that is, that they are suspicious and ought to be suppressed. In fact, such self-initiated and self-disciplined organizations and groups are important components of Canadian society. The situation in Canada is not like China, which regards these organizations and groups as threats against the government and tries its best to cripple or eliminate them.
Most NGOs follow a similar pattern of development. They begin with a concern about something or a common interest, and a group of volunteers motivated by a common goal then participates in the organization and freely contributes to their efforts. Some of these organizations are charities, some promote a specific cause or point of view, and some focus on human rights and justice.
Cultivation practice is a personal matter. However, it is true that groups of practitioners practice and discuss together. It is not wrong to say that practitioners of Falun Gong form a loosely knit group for cultivation practice, but it is just a group getting together for cultivation practice only. However, after April 25, 1999, when Jiang decided to suppress Falun Gong, a group that teaches people to be good and kind, he began to secretly organize activities against Falun Gong, steadily leading up to the nationwide persecution that began on July 20. This is a cruel persecution against good people, whereby all kinds of brutal methods as well as the economic resources of the entire nation are employed. During the last five years, an all-out overseas propaganda campaign against Falun Gong has also been launched. Facing this situation, Falun Gong practitioners have tried their best to find appropriate countermeasures, which resulted in the creation of the first Falun Gong website, Minghui.net (Clearwisdom.net), in June 1999. Since then, practitioners from different countries communicate and correspond with each other via the Internet, using this medium for clarifying the truth, speaking out against the persecution, exposing the evil, and awaking the awareness and consciousness of non-practitioners.
During these past years, if it is said that Falun Gong practitioners succeeded in some events to frighten the evil, stop the crimes, and reduce the losses, it is not because practitioners are "organized" in the negative ways suggested by the connotations of the word in China. Neither do they receive economic support from the US or Taiwan, as they are sometimes accused of. Falun Gong practitioners succeed because they always believe that evil will never win out over good, and that sunshine will always come out as the darkness is cleared away.
The practitioners of Falun Gong form a loosely administered organization composed of regular people. There is no formal structure, and the most important resource is the volunteers -- practitioners who happily contribute their time to support what they know in their hearts to be true and right. In their off hours, they voluntarily contribute their own wisdom, capabilities, energy, time and money to expose the lies of Jiang and his followers. Falun Gong practitioners in more than sixty countries worldwide do not seek, and have never received, any economic support from any government or other organizations.
In fact, actions speak louder than words. A careful reader will discover that the Chinese government no longer mentions that Falun Gong practitioners have political goals. The lie of "political goals" from Jiang's group is dying out in the face of the peaceful, rational and persistent efforts of Falun Gong practitioners. The term "organized," with all of the negative connotations it carries in China, was slapped on Falun Gong in efforts to suppress it, but the truth is, the connotations carried with the word have never applied.
