Facts of the Persecution

--On April 8, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Jin Jiang and his wife Wei Limei were abducted from their family-owned restaurant by police from Botou City, Hebei Province. They went on hunger strike to protest their detention. Police tied up Mr. Jin and tried to force-feed him. Jin Jiang refused to cooperate, and they beat him until his right eardrum was ruptured, his jaw was dislocated, and both his legs and ribs were fractured. Jin Jiang was put into handcuffs and ankle shackles from the moment he was taken away, and remains shackled until today. He has been tortured so severely that he can no longer take care of himself, and is dying. His wife Wei Limei has also been beaten and has injuries all over her body.

--Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Zhang Yunchan, who was a teacher in Chicheng County, Hebei Province, has had more than 20,000 yuan (1) extorted from her by the local authorities over the past four years of persecution. She was also put under house arrest multiple times, or detained. She lost her personal freedom and basic rights guaranteed to all Chinese citizens. Her family members were also adversely affected. One day in September 2002, while she was teaching, her husband told her that police sentenced her to one year of forced labor, but would let her out on medical parole because of her poor physical condition.

--Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Sun Dawei from Dehui City, Jilin Province was detained for more than three months starting on September 1999, because he went to appeal. He was abducted in March 2000, and sent to the Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai City. He was locked up there for one year, and had his term extended seven months. He was abducted again in April 2002, and was sent to the same labor camp again. After more than 90 days of hunger strike, he was only skin and bones, and had extremely low blood pressure. He was then released. On April 10, 2004, Mr. Sun and two other Falun Dafa practitioners, Ms. Wang Di and Ms. Zhao Jianjuan, were surrounded by police in their apartment. In order to avoid being brutally persecuted, they felt they had no choice but to jump from the fifth floor. This resulted in Mr. Sun's ribs being fractured, plus he suffered a head injury. Now the three of them are all in the Changchun Labor Camp Hospital.

Perpetrator's Evil Deeds

--On February 6, 2004, police from Jianhua Substation, Rang District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province broke into Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Zhiying's home with a metal ram. They stormed into her house, pressed her down on the bed, covered her head with clothes, pushed her 12-year-old daughter into a closet, ransacked the place, and then took her to the substation.

--On March 6, 2003, the Director of the Wulubutie Town Police Substation Ba Yingjun in Elunchun Autonomous Qi, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, had police storm into Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Bian Ai-na's home. They illegally ransacked her home but failed in their attempt to arrest her. Instead the police took her father into detention as a hostage. Later Ms. Bian Ai-na came back and exchanged herself for her father's freedom.
