Facts of the Persecution

My name is Zhang Shuai. I am a fourteen-year-old Dafa practitioner from Lianhua Village, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. When I was ten years old, my mother and I went to Beijing to validate Dafa and we were abducted by the police at Tiananmen Square. Then, we were taken back to Chengdu City and held at the Qingyang District Rehabilitation Center. My mother was illegally detained for 15 days, and then sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp. When I was twelve years old, in July 2001, my mother was abducted again by the police, and this time she was sentenced to a year and a half of forced labor. After her sentence expired in December 2002, she was illegally held at the Pengzhou City Brainwashing Center and the Pengzhou City Mental Hospital to be persecuted for an unlimited time. In July 2003, even with her poor physical condition and having lost 20 kilograms (before being persecuted she weighed 60 kilograms), my mother left there with righteous thoughts. Since that time, she has had to remain homeless to avoid more persecution.

Lin Xiangrui (male) is a thirty-three-year old Dafa practitioner from Raoping County, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. He was abducted by the authorities in 2000 and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. In the summer of 2002, Mr. Lin was released after he went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. However, a few days later, he was abducted again and was persecuted until the end of 2002. From May 2003 to March 2004, the authorities illegally detained Mr. Lin at the Chaozhou City Detention Center, then they sentenced him to four years of forced labor. Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Chuqiang was twenty-nine years old and also from Raoping County. In 2002, the authorities abducted him when he was handing out flyers clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people. So far he is being held at the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp, Guangdong Province. Mr. Yang has been cruelly tortured for a long period of time because of persisting in practicing Falun Gong and now his physical condition is very poor.

My name is Pan Maiqing (male), and I am a Dafa practitioner from Anlu City, Hubei Province. On October 30, 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal to the higher authorities for Falun Gong and I was arrested. They took me back to my hometown and held me at the Anlu City Detention Center for over forty days. After that, I was sentenced to a year of forced labor. In the forced labor camp, I was cruelly beaten by the criminal inmates. A rib and my sternum were both broken due to being kicked. The warden flogged me with iron chains. I was tortured with a number of methods including being forced to half-crouch for long periods of time, standing straight for a long time, burning my fingers with a cigarette and stripping off my shirt and beating me with a broom. I was beaten so badly that the skin covering my body was broken open and my body was covered in blood. After being released, I went to Beijing to appeal to the higher authorities again. Later I was taken back to the local Detention Center and held there for over forty days. I was released after I paid several fines.

My name is Huang Sufen (female), and I am a hairdresser in Xiangxiang City, Hunan Province. When I was practicing Falun Gong in Martyrs Park on May 11, 2000, I was abducted by the police and detained for ten days. In September 2001, I was arrested and taken to the brainwashing center by the police and held for 41 days. On March 28, 2003, I was abducted once more. The police beat me to the ground, forced me to kneel down, slapped my face, and punched and kicked me. They also handcuffed my hands behind my back so tightly that the handcuffs cut into my skin. Then they hung me up against the wall with my feet off the ground. After they released me from being hung up, I was unconscious and my wrists were bleeding. Even now, my hands are still painful and numb and the bones have been deformed. After that, I was held at a detention center. I walked out of there with righteous thoughts on the 36th day. I have now been forced to become homeless and move from place to place to avoid being persecuted.

Falun Gong practitioner Fu Shuling (female) from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, was illegally abducted by the police on April 8, 2002. She had heart disease because of the persecution although she was still forced to perform labor in a forced labor camp. At the camp, Ms. Fu fell unconscious twice due to being overworked and she was deprived of sleep for over two months. She had reached her limit both physically and mentally. The doctors said that Ms. Fu had a heart problem, her brain wasn't getting enough blood, her heart beat too fast and her blood pressure was too high. Ms. Fu's family members were worried that she might die there, so they gave a lot of money to the persons in charge of the camp. It wasn't until then that she was taken to the hospital. Ms. Fu had been tortured almost to death even though her family had paid quite a lot of money to the camp. Finally, she was allowed to go home. Since coming home, she has been absent-minded and often wakes up from frightening dreams. She is still suffering from shortness of breath.

Cases of Falun Gong practitioners from Gucheng County, Hengshui Area, Hebei Province suffering from the persecution:

1. Mr. Liu Fengchen was held at the Gucheng County Detention Center for nine months in 2002 and the authorities extorted over 10,000 yuan (1) from his family.

2. Mr. Baokun (first name) was taken to the Gucheng County Detention Center and held there for several months due to handing out Falun Gong truth clarifying flyers to people.

3. Mr. Song Zeli and his brother Song Zehang do not practice Falun Gong, but their cousin from Wucheng County, Shandong Province does practice. When the cousin was forced to become homeless and move from place to place to avoid being persecuted, he never stayed in their home. In October 2002, the two brothers were abducted by the police and were illegally held at the Wucheng County Police Station for six days. The police not only fined the two brothers 600 yuan but also took away their cousin's motorcycle from their home where he had been keeping it.

4. Mr. Zhu Yuhai does not practice Falun Gong, but his relative does. The relative had to leave his home due to the persecution. The Wucheng County Police Station suspected that Mr. Zhu protected his relative, so they wanted to catch Mr. Zhu. Mr. Zhu was forced to hide in different places and didn't dare go home. In November 2002, the police from Wucheng County abducted Mr. Zhu and held him at the Wucheng County Detention Center for a month. Mr. Zhu was seriously tortured during the interrogation and had 12,000 yuan extorted from him.

Perpetrators and Their Crimes

The police and criminals from the Fujian Province Women's Jail cruelly beat Dafa practitioners. Dafa practitioner Ms. Zuo Xiuyun was beaten unconscious several times by the police. Ms. Wang Chaoyu was force-fed with drugs which damage the nervous system and she suffered a mental collapse because of the persecution. The guards instigated the criminal inmate, Wang Yuqiong (female), to beat Dafa practitioners. Almost all of the Dafa practitioners who were illegally held at the Women's Jail were beaten by Wang Yuqiong.

Policeman Yang Xizhong from Sanhe City, Hebei Province, cruelly tortured elderly and female Falun Gong practitioners. He beat Dafa practitioner Ms. Yan Juying's hips and waist with a stick. He shocked her on her face and hands with an electric baton, and as a result, her face and hands were burned very badly. An elderly practitioner was slapped over ten times on his face by Yang and blood poured from his mouth. That was not all. Yang forced the elderly practitioner to kneel down on the floor and shocked him with an electric baton for over three hours. Both wrists and the insides of the legs of the elderly practitioner were seriously burned.
