(Clearwisdom.net) One month before the 2004 Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) the principal of a middle school had been ill in bed for a week. Her neighbor, a practitioner of Falun Gong, gave her the book Zhuan Falun and said, "You always said that you have no time to read this, now you do." The principal always regarded the practitioner with fondness and as a sister. She took the book, remembering the words of the practitioner: "You are well educated and should not believe anything casually. You will come to know the truth of this by reading it."
The principal read through more than thirty pages in what seemed a moment. As she read, she discovered that her throat and body were no longer in pain. She was so surprised that she put on her clothing and went out for a breath of fresh air. By chance, she met her aunt in the neighborhood. The old aunt told her, "I have a severe toothache that cannot be treated. I have been unable to sleep for several nights." The principal said, "I have heard that you can silently repeat the words, 'Falun Dafa is good' or 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance' and possibly obtain relief." She wrote the words on a piece of paper for her aunt and gave it to her. The aunt read these words silently on her way home. After she arrived home, she noticed that her toothache had disappeared. She could not believe it, so she pulled at the tooth and hit her cheek, but the pain was completely gone! After this, she immediately called her daughter, "Don't bring me the medicine. My toothache is gone." Her daughter asked which medicine she had taken. Her mother said, "I was cured by reading the words, 'Falun Dafa is good'!"
During the Spring Festival vacation, seven or eight of the principal's colleagues came to visit her, believing she was ill. The principal said intently, "Now I believe in Falun Gong. The Party always spreads lies, but Falun Gong emphasizes 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance'. The Teacher of Falun Gong said, 'If you do not cultivate your mind, you will not recover from illnesses; if you do not cultivate you mind, you will not increase your Gong."

An elderly couple was living near a college; she was a retired worker, 65 years old, and her husband was 70 years old and a teacher at a middle school. After the persecution began they saw the propaganda against Falun Gong on TV. They discussed it in private and considered the matter. By chance, one of their colleagues, a practitioner of Falun Gong, came to their home. The couple began to chat with her eagerly. The teacher said, "Before the persecution, when I came to the college for exercises in the morning, I saw so many professors, lecturers, Ph.D. students and undergraduates practicing Falun Gong. So many well educated people choose to practice Falun Gong. Now, the TV is continually spreading propaganda against Falun Gong. I heard that they still practice it. Are they foolish? Regardless of the persecution against Falun Gong, these people continue to practice it." His wife commented, "The more propaganda the TV spreads, the clearer my thoughts are. I don't know why, but my mind is always occupied with this matter and I can't stop it."
Recently, the practitioner gave a copy of Zhuan Falun (the main text of Falun Gong) to her colleague. The husband grabbed the book first and said to his wife, "I will read this book first. You may read it after I have finished." When the practitioner left their home, he came out to send her off with two hands holding the book and said, "After we read the book, you may bring us more books. I will try to explore what is in all them." As a result, they became Falun Gong practitioners.

A person being held at a detention center noticed that there were also Falun Gong practitioners there. He found that the practitioners had extraordinary influence on other people. They never fight, hurt or criticize anyone. They never steal or use things belonging to other people. They don't smoke or drink and they always consider other people first. What they say is very rational and sound. And they seem to understand the meaning of life! One day, he had a chance to speak with a practitioner and said, "You are different from other people. You are not afraid of suffering the persecution, nor even of death for Falun Gong. I am sure there is something remarkable in the book. After I am released, I will definitely read Zhuan Falun."
