(Clearwisdom.net) In late January 2004, just after the Chinese Spring Festival, Ms. Liu Zezhi, a practitioner in Guangshan County of southern Shandong Province, took the chance to visit relatives and friends. She gave them literature explaining the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. The police caught her and took her to the Guangshan County Public Security Bureau. The police repeatedly kicked and beat her in order to obtain the names and locations of those who supplied the literature. Ms. Liu firmly refused to tell them her fellow practitioners' names despite the beatings and threats. As a result, she was detained for a month.
During that time, the police used various brutal means to obtain information or get a confession from Ms. Liu. They tried to force her into divulging information by interrogating her with torture including beatings, shocking her with electric batons, not allowing her to sleep, and many other abuses. However, all of their attempts failed to obtain a confession or information on other practitioners. The police then told her that she would be released if she would write a statement of guilt and agreed to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. She spoke to them with the force of justice, "I cultivate myself according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. I am not guilty. Falun Dafa is righteous and good. Currently it is suffering such an injustice. How can you slander Falun Gong, while we can not speak the truth?" They were unable to get any information from her, even after extending her detention term again and again. The police requested her husband take pay a 3,000-Yuan (1) fine for her release. Her husband declined since their family did not have enough money to pay it.
Upon learning this news, fellow practitioners of Guangshan County discussed how to handle it. Some suggested that raising funds to help Ms. Liu get released, others thought that doing this would mean cooperating with this evil arrangement. The evil factors could then take advantage of the loophole. Just at this time, Teacher Li's new article "Stop the Evil Acts with Righteous Thoughts" was published. We studied this article a few times and were deeply touched by Master Li's compassion in granting Dafa disciples such mighty powers and wisdom at this critical moment. We realized that everything is under Teacher's control and arrangements. In this article Teacher stated,
"So you cannot accept any of the evil's persecutory acts, and even less should you allow the evil to do whatever it wants persecuting Dafa disciples. If the wicked policemen and the bad people can't be dissuaded and persist in doing evil, you can stop them with righteous thoughts."
To help Liu Zezhi get released quickly, we worked out three approaches. First, we called the detention center and clarified the facts about Falun Gong to the police. We advised them not to do such unlawful deeds against their conscience. We asked them not to blindly follow the Jiang regime's orders to persecute Falun Gong. We reminded them that good deeds are rewarded with good and bad deeds are met with karmic retribution. We requested that they release Ms. Liu immediately. Second, we encouraged Liu's husband and her child to directly request that the police release Ms. Liu. Our third action, and our most important approach, was for all fellow practitioners of Guangshan County to increase our times of sending forth righteous thoughts. We wanted to rescue our fellow practitioner by strengthening our combined righteous thoughts. In addition, to sending forth righteous thoughts according to the worldwide schedule, we also sent forth righteous at 7:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m., and 11:00 p.m. everyday. We sent forth righteous thoughts at least 8 times a day to eliminate all evil factors in other dimensions that are persecuting Falun Gong disciples and damaging Dafa material production sites in Guangshan County.
Three days later, Ms. Liu Zezhi was released unconditionally. Fellow practitioners quickly spread this good news. The facts have again proven that Dafa disciple's righteous thoughts are very powerful.
