(Clearwisdom.net) On May 28, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan, Kentucky, Michigan and Illinois transferred the "Persecution Meets Principle" Torture Exhibition from Chicago to the halls of the Illinois State Capitol Building.
The torture exhibition demonstrated by real models shocked senators and congressmen, the staff and visitors. Through real models' exhibition of three types of torture techniques--being incarcerated in water dungeon, force-feeding, and ramming bamboo sticks into one's fingernails, plus a large number of photos illustrating more torture devices--practitioners displayed at a deeper level to the audience the brutality of the Jiang group's persecution and Falun Gong practitioners' courage and rationality.

Practitioners' peaceful exercise scene formed a sharp contrast with the Jiang group's fiendish persecution, and touched the hearts of every passerby. Practitioners also had an opportunity to talk to several congressmen who, they were not able to meet at the usual time. District 60 congressman Mr. Washington did not have enough time to finish reading written explanation on the display board and specially requested us to send a written explanation of the exhibition to him. A staff member who had seen the exhibition on Federal Plaza told us that it is the most effective means to convey our message, and he encouraged us to keep up our efforts.
Over the past three years, practitioners have held the "Journey of Falun Dafa" Photo Exhibit, Practitioners' Painting Exhibition, Exercise Demonstration and Arts performance and other activities in the Illinois State Capitol. Many congressmen and staff members have learned about Falun Gong and the facts of Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong in Mainland China. In 2002, the State Senate and House of Representative passed a resolution condemning the Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong and urged the American Government to take all feasible measures to stop the persecution. In May 2003, 80 state congressmen jointly signed a letter requesting the American Government to support the Falun Gong practitioners' lawsuit against Jiang.
