Persecution Facts

Dafa practitioner Ms. Wu Qinxia from Benxi City was abducted and sent to a detention center and her home was ransacked on March 9, 2004. The police also arrested Wu Qinxia's daughter and sent her to the detention center. Ms. Wu Qinxia was incontinent and lost partial function of her left side due to torture. Mother and daughter were sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp. Her daughter was sentenced to three years of forced labor. The labor camp refused to take Wu Qinxia and sent her home.

Dafa practitioners Guo Baojun and Yang Shuxia were monitored by their work units after the persecution began. In late June 2000 they went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and were arrested. From July 2000 to the present, their work units have completely cut off their salaries. In March 2002, Yang Shuxia told her colleagues the truth about Dafa and someone reported her. As a result, Guo Baojun had to leave home for a few months and Yang Shuxia was sentenced to one year of forced labor. On December 1, 2003, their work unit told them to go to a hospital for a "talk," while in fact the perpetrators were trying to arrest them. They decided to leave home.

Dafa practitioner Ms.Ye Huilan from Daliang Town, Wuqing District, Tianjin City went to Beijing to appeal on December 29, 2000. She was sent back, brutally beaten and held for two-and-a-half months. On March 15, 2001 she was sentenced to 1.5 years of forced labor, later extended by one year, in violation of the Chinese constitution. At the Dagang Female Labor Camp she was forced to work for 15 to 16 hours daily and copy Dafa-attacking books at night. During this time she was detained in solitary confinement, ordered to stand and squat and was not allowed to sleep. The torture mentally traumatized her.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuqin from Qitan Village, Dongpuwa Town, Tianjin City went to Beijing to validate Dafa on December 30, 2000 and was illegally detained for more than three months. On April 17, 2001 she was sent to the Banqiao Female Labor Camp in Dagang, Tianjin City where she was cruelly tortured, both physically and mentally. Her legs and feet turned numb because of the long-term savage abuse. During this period she was sent to a brainwashing class. She was held a total of 2.5 years in the labor camp.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Dou Jianjun used to work for the Magnetic Company of the China Oil & Gas Pipeline Bureau. His supervisor and colleagues praised his character. Since he began practicing Falun Gong in 1998, he conducted himself strictly according to Truth -- Compassion - Tolerance. He was nevertheless abducted and sentenced to three years of forced labor because he is a Falun Gong practitioner. Mr. Dou is currently being held at the Tangshan Labor Camp. Recently, the guards didn't allow him to sleep for seven days and seven nights, and they beat and tortured him in an attempt to make him give up his beliefs.
