[Note: Campaigns to force students to write articles on sensitive issues is a commonplace practice of the Chinese government. After the Tiananmen Square Massacre on June 4, 1989, students across China were forced to write articles condemning the protestor's actions and siding with the claims of the Chinese government.]
(Clearwisdom.net) In June of 2004, the Hebei Educational Department, Hebei Journalists Association, Hebei Anti-Cult Association, the provincial commissioners of Hebei Young Communists and the directors of Hebei Young Workers collaborated with the provincial education system in initiating an article-soliciting campaign. They intend to use this activity to frame Falun Gong and poison the young minds of students. The article-soliciting notice has already been sent to every county and city with the request that all schools "accomplish it as a political mission."
The articles can be published under pen names, but the drafts must contain the students' real names as well as the names of the schools they attend. All articles are to be collectively sent to each city's educational bureau or individually submitted to the article-soliciting office of the Hebei Anti-Cult Association. Selected articles will be published in either July, August or September's issues of Yanzhao City Review, Hebei Youth, and Young Intelligence Development Report. Then in October, the aforementioned organizers will jointly review the published articles and award "grand awards."
During this campaign, it became a requirement in the Shanhaiguan educational system of Qinghuangdao City, Hebei Province, that each student in every school write an anti-Falun Gong article while on summer vacation; even elementary school first-graders were obligated to write such an article. Since July 20, 1999, a number of unlawful officials at the Shanhaiguan education bureau have subserviently followed dictator Jiang Zemin in persecuting Falun Gong; they have assisted the tyrant in doing evil and attacking, slandering, and defaming Falun Gong, which teaches Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, and the respected Teacher Li Hongzhi. Also, they have conspired with the district government, district commissioners and the public security bureau to persecute Falun Gong practitioners within the educational system and to feed lies to the district school teachers and elementary school students.
During her state visit to Africa's Tanzania, Chen Zhili, the former Minister of Education and a current Member of the Chinese State Council, was sued in a Tanzanian Court for her role in the systematic torturing and murdering of Chinese teachers and students who practice Falun Gong. She was then subpoenaed to appear in the court hearing before leaving Tanzania. Additionally, Jiang and his followers have been served with lawsuits in many countries worldwide for genocide, torture and crimes against humanity, and many have been found guilty.
