Facts of the Persecution

1) Around July 24, 2004, a group of Dafa practitioners held at the Shaanxi Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp shouted, "Falun Dafa is great!" The guards detained nine determined practitioners in solitary confinement. Starting on July 26, these nine practitioners have held a hunger strike that is still ongoing. They have severe physical symptoms. Three of them are in critical condition.

2) Dafa practitioners in Lintao County, Gansu Province are suffering persecution.

3) The perpetrators at the Guang'an City "610 Office" in Sichuan Province tormented Dafa practitioners Peng Shiqiong, Zhu Yaohui, Zeng Geping and Li Bingxiu. Practitioner Peng Shiqiong went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in January 2000 and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. In July 2002 she was sentenced to another two years of forced labor and recently was sent to the Huaying City Brainwashing Class. In August 2000, Zhu Yaohui was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Her sentence was extended by six months when she was held at the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong City, Sichuan Province. On June 5, 2004, she was arrested again and sent to the Guang'an Detention Center, where she was beaten until she vomited blood. Several days later she was sent to Huaying City's Brainwashing Class. In August 2000, Zeng Geping was sentenced to three years of forced labor for appealing for Dafa and was sent to Huaying City's Brainwashing Class after his sentence had expired. Li Bingxiu went to Beijing to appeal in 1999 and was illegally detained. In May 2000, she was sent to a detention center and sentenced to four years in prison in April 2001. She was sent to a brainwashing class after her sentence expired in 2004.

4) Dafa practitioner Huang Zhiping and her husband Wang Daode from Nanchong City, Sichuan Province were abused and mistreated. In October 1999, Huang Zhiping was sent to a detention center and sentenced to one year of forced labor. In late October 2000, Huang Zhiping was released but was soon arrested again and sentenced to two years of forced labor. In May 2004, the perpetrators from the Guang'an National Security Team arrested her and sentenced her to two years of forced labor in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong, Sichuan Province in July 2004. Huang Zhiping's husband Wang Daode was arrested in October 1999 when he appealed in Beijing. He was held at the Nanchong Detention Center, where he was severely tortured. The perpetrators released him after extorting 7,000 Yuan from his family. His work unit demoted him to the position of a janitor and reduced his wages.

5) A person reported Dafa practitioner Zhang Chengying in Wanzhou. As a result she was arrested at home in the afternoon of July 21 by perpetrators from the Longbao Police Department in the Wanzhou District. Her son Xiang Youwei, a 19-year-old Dafa practitioner, is a student at Vocational School of the Three Gorges Institute in Chongqing. He was abducted from his dormitory in the evening. After 24 hours of interrogation, the perpetrators sent Xiang Youwei to the Wanzhou District Brainwashing Class. Later, Xiang Youwei escaped with the power of her righteous thoughts and went into hiding to avoid being arrested again.

6) In the evening of August 20, 2004, three Dafa practitioners, An Guihe, Xin Yulan and Chen Sulian, all in their 60s, were abducted by police when distributing truth clarification materials in Pingzhuang Town. They are being held at the Pingzhuang Detention Center in the Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City.

7) In the afternoon of August 24, 2004, Dafa practitioner Tang Yafang and her child in Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested at home. Her child was released in the evening. Tang Yafang is being held at Acheng City's Detention Center. Wang Jincai and his wife Tang Yafang were both arrested at home within a few days of each other by officers from the Heping Police Station.

8) On August 18, 2004, police officers from the Yingquan District, Fuyang City, Anhui Province broke into No 1. Middle School in Fuyang City and arrested Dafa practitioner Wang Zhaokai. They sent him to the Fuyang City Detention Center, where he is now being held.

9) At around 4:00 a.m. on August 14, 2004, Dafa practitioner Wang Huinan from Jiahe Town, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province crossed out a Dafa-slandering slogan and was subsequently abducted by police, who later ransacked her home and sent her to Xinbin County Detention Center. On August 18, they transferred her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City.

10) Dafa practitioner Lu Wanjie from Gaomatou Village, Xian County, Hebei Province began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. In December 1999, Lu Wanjie was abducted from home. Officers from the Leshou Police Department sent him to the Xian County Detention Center, where he was beaten until one of his ribs were broken. Lu Wanjie then stopped practicing Dafa and was later diagnosed with serious liver disease. In September 2002, Lu Wanjie again returned to Dafa practice. As a result, the authorities detained and beat him numerous times, and extorted 4,000 Yuan from Lu Wanjie between 1999 and 2004.
