(Clearwisdom.net) My husband works as a guard at a forced labor camp. He is a good, honest, and kindhearted person.
The second half of 2001 was the peak of the persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's regime. One day a Falun Dafa practitioner was assigned to my husband's unit. This once strong and sturdy young man looked awful after more than a month of persecution. My husband asked him about his health. He replied, saying that his health was poor before but had greatly improved after practicing Falun Gong. During the time he was detained however, he was subjected to brutal beatings by guards, and by the jailed convicts directed by the guards. They deprived him of sleep, and even water. It was lunchtime, and someone had delivered a bowl of noodles and two eggs for my husband. He saw that the Dafa practitioner was obviously hungry and thirsty, so he quickly let him have the meal, and even gave him an apple. I told him, "What you did was really good!" I saw that his eyes had welled up with tears...
During that period of time, Dafa practitioners were being illegally sent to the labor camp every day. One time I had guests in my home, and during our conversation we brought up the subject of Falun Gong. My husband said, "The people who practice Falun Gong are all good people. I know, because I am in constant contact with them, and understand them. How could it be wrong to cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance? These people are kindhearted, they have high moral standards, they don't hit back when hit, or talk back when insulted. They're so upstanding. They cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to be good people, and are not afraid to die for it. Although I don't practice Falun Gong, I have read this book Zhuan Falun, and it is very well written. In my opinion, if we all conduct ourselves to be good people like what is taught in Zhuan Falun, then there would be stability in society, and it wouldn't be so corrupt and chaotic. I came to the conclusion that only a person of such high nobility as Mr. Li Hongzhi, and such a good book could produce such a group of good people. And the practice has spread all over the world. Can you think of another practice that has such a worldwide following? So that's it isn't it? As for the Beijing self-immolation incident (the so-called "Tiananmen self-immolation incident"), you can tell that it's staged right away. When they want to persecute you, they have to fabricate a reason. China, such a big country, can be fooled by such a big lie by their propaganda machinery. This is really a shame and a pity." After hearing his words, the guests were quite convinced as well.
One time he saw a flier about a Dafa practitioner who went to Beijing to validate Dafa, but was arrested and illegally held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. This practitioner was around 150 pounds, but she was tortured to a mere 77 pounds. After he finished reading it, he wept, lamenting on the tragic brutal inhumanity of today's guards under the directive of Jiang's scoundrel regime. "How can the guards do this? They're all breaking the law in the name of enforcing the law. These guards are so muddleheaded they've lost all their senses and the ability to reason, to tell good from bad, right from wrong, and to make the correct judgments on such major issues of principle. They've become unpardonable criminals."
There are many other instances where my husband was compassionate towards Dafa practitioners, but I won't list them all here. In my mind, the people who enter this line of work are for the most part the same type of people. How is it that some guards can use their rationality and conscience to judge what is righteous, and what is evil?
I earnestly urge those guards who are still persecuting Dafa practitioners, and those evildoers to rein in at the brink of the precipice at this eleventh-hour, and choose your own path rather than blindly following Jiang's orders against your conscience, for a fleeting moment of illusory praise, and to help a tyrant do evil. Natural justice will not tolerate it. Good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with evil.
