Canada: Practitioners Inform the Government and Media about the Lawsuit against CCP Official Lin Yanzhi (Photos)

November 08, 2005 |

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 1, 2005, via peaceful appeal and press conference in Ottawa, practitioners informed the government and media that Lin Yanzhi is being sued in Toronto for his crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong. He is the Deputy Secretary of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and actively persecutes practitioners in Jilin. After Lin was sued, he did not show up at public events during his trip to Canada.

Lin was the director of the Jilin Province 610 Office. In this position, Lin directed and was personally involved in "converting" practitioners with torture. According to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG)'s investigation, when overseeing the progress of the "conversion of Falun Gong practitioners" at Siping City Forced Labor Camp, Lin threatened practitioners: "If you refuse to renounce Falun Gong after one year of detention, we will detain you for two years. If two years is not enough, then three years. If you refuse to convert (renounce Falun Gong) after three years of detention, we will detain you for ten years. In China, there are about 100,000 steadfast practitioners. China has 1.2 billion people, if these 100,000 refuse to convert, we can do anything to them--we can torture or kill them. One hundred thousand is just a small number for us. Even if we kill 2 million practitioners, the reign of our Communist Party won't be affected..."

On August 30, 2001 Lin visited the Songyuan City 610 Office and ordered police officers to drag practitioner Xin Guoqian out and beat him. After Xin was covered with injuries, Lin unlawfully ordered Xin Guoqian to be detained in a forced labor camp for a year.

As of September 2005, it has been verified that 322 practitioners have died as a result of persecution in Jilin, making it the 4th highest province in terms of deaths of practitioners.

Practitioner Ms. Gongyu Dai said that Lin directed torture of practitioners and that he was responsible for many crimes against practitioners.

Ms. Dai said, "We hope the Canadian people will know about Lin Yanzhi's crimes and will not let such CCP officials enter Canada. We suggest that the Canadian government keep track of and investigate CCP officials planning to travel overseas. If they are involved in the persecution of Falun Gong, they should not be invited to Canada."

It was verified that Lin Yanzhi did not appear at public events after he was sued in Toronto.

Mr. Xun Li, Director of Falun Dafa Association of Canada, said at the press conference, "For six years, we have tried hard to awaken the perpetrators in the persecution of Falun Gong and have them stop the persecution. We hope that after the publication of the Falun Dafa Association announcement, CCP officials involved in the persecution will stop the persecution and correct their mistakes. They can write a regret letter to confess their wrongdoings. We will accept them on case by case basis."

Mr. Li said, "For those officials who are still involved in the persecution, we will take legal action to stop their entry to Canada. Once they enter Canada, we will sue them according to Canada's laws and international law."

Lin Yanzhi is the second high-level CCP official to be sued after the publication of the announcement. The other one is Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong Province, who was sued during his visit to Vancouver one week ago for instigating torture in the persecution of Falun Gong. On October 21, the second morning after Huang's arrival in Canada, he was served with a court summons.

In September, the Falun Dafa Association requested the Canadian government to deny the entry of two other CCP officials who participated in the persecution, Bo Xilai, Minister of Commerce and former governor of Liaoning Province, and Xia Deren, Deputy Governor of Liaoning Province. These two officials were thus unable to make their trip as scheduled.
