1. The Court Refuses to Process a Falun Dafa Practitioner's Appeal

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xiumin from Shijiazhuang City was arrested by some public security staff members in July of 2004 while she was on her way to visit her son. Without any judiciary procedure, Ms. Li was then sent to a forced labor camp. Right now, she is being held in the No. 4 Brigade of the Second Cellblock of Shijiazhuang City's Forced Labor Camp. One day in early January of 2005, a police officer from the camp called Ms. Li's mother, telling her that she was trying to appeal her case and needed money from her mother. In the afternoon of that same day, Ms. Li's mother brought 300 yuan to police officer Liu Junling. She also asked whether her daughter needed any further assistance from the family. Police officer Liu said that they would take care of the case. Several days later, when Ms. Li's mother called the camp and inquired about the case, a prison guard with a last name of Du answered the phone and said that they had tried to take care of the case, but the district court refused to process the appeal. The court stated that they would not deal with any Falun Gong related cases. On the following day, Ms. Li's mother went directly to the forced labor camp to ask for the appeal documents, but the camp refused to give them to her. Ever since Ms. Li was arrested, she has been experiencing brutal persecution. She is under strict surveillance and no one is allowed to visit her. Two staff members accompany her at all times and she is not allowed to leave her cell, even when she wants to eat something or drink some water.

2. Persecutions of Falun Dafa Practitioners by the 610 Office and Depraved Policemen

Ever since 2005, officials from Jiyuan City, Henan Province have been actively persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. A special group has been formed to specifically carry out the persecution against Falun Gong. Members include the General Secretary of the City Committee Zhou Chunyan, the Vice Secretary of the City Committee Liang Dagui, the General Secretary of the Judiciary Committee Hao Qingnen, the Vice Secretaries of the Judiciary Committee Zhao Zhongjung and Yu Wuzhong, 610 Office official Wang Qingzhu, and police officers Wang Mingli and Wang Guoyou. The group dispatches plainclothes police officers everywhere to monitor the activities of Falun Gong practitioners. They ransack practitioners' houses and arrest them, severely interfering with their daily lives. Some time around January 25, 2005, Dafa practitioner Song Xiao and some others were reported while clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. As a result, they were detained for 12 days. They are still being tortured in the detention center. On February 1 and 2, 2005, the 610 Office and the public security department arrested practitioners Yang Caiqian, Feng Xiaoling, and Da Ding. These practitioners are still being held in the detention center.

3. Brutal Persecution on Falun Gong Practitioners Inside a Prison

From December 21 to 31, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in the Women's Prison of Helongjiang Province were being persecuted because they didn't cooperate with the prison authorities. One afternoon, the prison security officers asked 30 inmates to hang practitioners Guan Suling, Zhang Xiaobo, Zhang Linwen, and Zhang Liping with their hands cuffed behind their backs. Guan Suling's whole body was hung in the air. Half an hour later, every practitioner's hands turned purple because the ropes cut through their wrists. Guan Suling fainted and began to vomit. Later on, practitioners Gao Guizhen, Yu Xiuying, and Liu Xuewei were handcuffed behind their backs for half an hour. Practitioner Zhang Jing started to send forth righteous thought with her hand erected and some inmates immediately dragged her inside the cell and forced her to sit on the ground. Zhang Jing was not allowed to sleep until December 26. She was shackled tightly to the ground, and as a result, her hands and feet became swollen. On December 28, practitioner Chen Weijun was forced to sit on the ground because she tried to take off her prisoner uniform. On December 29, police officers asked 10 inmates to hang practitioners Chen Weijun, Guan Suling, Zhang Jing, and Zhang Liping with their hands cuffed behind their backs again. Except for Zhang Jing, all of the practitioners fainted as a result of the brutal hanging torture. On December 30, Guan Suling regained consciousness and was immediately forced to sit on the ground with her hands cuffed against the ground. Later, she was hung from her bed for 4 days and nights. On January 3, 2005, practitioner Ms. Wang Juyan was dragged to a private cell to be tortured. Prison officers tried to force-feed her after she started a hunger strike. At the same time, they hung Ms. Wang from her bed and didn't allow her to sleep for 3 days and nights. Later, she was forced to sit on the small stool from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day. On January 13, 2005, practitioner Ms. Li Shufen was forcefully dragged to the so-called "Education Center" at the back of the prison. She was handcuffed with her hands behind her back. There, she was asked to reflect upon herself and change her mind about Falun Dafa. Police officers attached the handcuffs, which were already behind her back, to her bed. She was forced to sit on the ground, as she simply couldn't stand up at all. She was not allowed to sleep, to take a shower, or even go to the restroom. Sometimes, the police officers would drag the bed that she was cuffed to. Several times, Ms. Li had difficultly breathing, yet she was still not released from the handcuffs. Even worse, the police officers force-fed her unknown drugs. This brutal torture lasted for 3 days. Practitioner Ms. Wang Shuxia went on a hunger strike to demand that she be allowed to read Dafa books, practice the Falun Gong exercises, and be released from the prison unconditionally. As a result, she was sent to a special cellblock where her daily activities were strictly monitored at all times. Currently, her heart rate ranges from 120 to 140 beats per minute. Practitioner Ms. Song Qing was also severely tortured. In June 2003, because she refused to put on the prisoner uniform, more than 10 inmates dragged her on the ground, wrapped her head with a white piece of cloth and beat her severely on the head until she had difficultly breathing. The inmates also wrote the Chinese character "prisoner" all over Ms. Song's body to humiliate her. Later, they tied her hands with a rope while forcing her to sit on the ground for one whole day. On March 10, 2003, many Dafa practitioners refused to wear their prison uniforms. As a result, they were all hung up, first with rope and then with handcuffs. When the practitioners fainted from the hanging, they were released, but right after they regained consciousness, they were hung up again. Some of the practitioners couldn't handle such brutal torture and started to hit their heads against the wall. Prison inmates rushed at these practitioners and kicked, punched, and verbally abused them. In May 2003, some practitioners refused to respond to the police officers when their names were called from the prison roster. As a result, they were handcuffed to their bed for one night. At 2:00 p.m. on the following day, all these practitioners were hung up. The handcuffs cut into their flesh and their hands turned purple. It took a long time before their fingers started to function normally after the brutal hanging torture.

4. A Dafa Practitioner is Arrested

Dafa practitioner Ms. Ding Haiqing used to work at the Tianqiaoling Bureau of Forestry, Wangqing County, Jilin Province. Ms. Ding was born in 1965. In 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. For doing so, she was illegally sentenced to one year in prison and was held at the Heizuizi Women's Prison of Jilin Province. In July 2003, the police again arrested Ms. Ding. With the help of her righteous thoughts, she escaped from detention and became homeless. On December 28, 2004, around 8:00 p.m., the Deputy Director of the Tianqiaoling Bureau of Forestry Jiang Tao conspired with a police officer named Li Wendong and arrested Ms. Ding. They then sent her to the local No. 1 Detention Center. In the detention center, Tianqiaoling Forestry Bureau Director Hao Weiliang, Deputy Director Jiang Tao, police officer Li Wendong, and some other police officers severely tortured Ms. Ding. After being detained for 20 days, Ms. Ding was then sent to the Heizuizi Women's Prison of Helongjiang Province for further torture. She was sentenced to three years in that prison.

5. The Deeds of Certain Town Officials

Since July 20, 1999, some town officials from Sierbu Town, Lianshan District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province have been actively persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. All those practitioners who had gone to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong were detained in Detention Center of Huludao City. Four female practitioners, Guo Sulan, Liu Yufeng, Zhang Yufen, and Li Suping, were then sent to the Masanjia Women's Forced Labor Camp to be brutally persecuted there. Two male practitioners were sent the Huludao Forced Labor Camp to be persecuted. Three female practitioners were detained and sent to a brainwashing center. After these three practitioners were tortured, they were released on probation for medical treatment. After the release, they were illegally fined and their houses were ransacked. A local village official named Yang Suqin frequently harassed them. In 2000, police officer Zeng Qing from the local town's public security station beat and kicked several Dafa practitioners. He forced practitioners to write the Guarantee Statement to give up Falun Gong. Those who didn't write the statement faced detention, and a forced labor prison term. Another police officer by the name of Wang Haitao arrested Dafa practitioners Liu Wenxiu and Han Xing. On July 20, 2004, Wang Haitao also persecuted Dafa practitioner Zhang Sujie. Jin Fuzhen once punched an elderly Dafa practitioner in the chest so forcefully that the practitioner had chest pains for several months afterwards.
