Facts of the Persecution

1. Practitioner Mr. Li Wenjun is Illegally Sent to Forced Labor Camp, His Parents Have No Way to Appeal

In April of last year, because of evidence fabricated by the wicked Weichang Police Station, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Wenjun of Gaoxin District, Jilin City was illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp for three years. In the eight months since then, the aged parents of Mr. Li Wenjun have been to all related units and departments in the Jilin area demanding justice for their son. But in spite of traveling hundreds of miles to Jilin Province's Jiutai Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp over twenty times, they were still not allowed to see their son, who they worry about day and night. The parents are still continuing their work to appeal for justice for Li Wenjun.

2. Falun Gong Practitioners Mr. Wang Zhong and Ms. Guixiang Were Extorted of Large Amounts of Money

In January 2000, along with several other practitioners, we went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but the police at the capital arrested us and would not allow practitioners to speak out. They notified Liaolan Village Police Station to take us back to our hometown for detention at the local police station. The local police demanded a fine of 5,000 yuan from each practitioner who went to Beijing, and wanted the money within three days. For the both of us, the fine would total 10,000 yuan for our release. We came up with the amount by using 7,000 yuan of our daughter's money and our odds and ends. 10,000 yuan is a huge amount of money to us farmers. Besides this, the police station chief went to the village brigade's Secretary General to ask for an additional 2,000 yuan for police travel expenses to Beijing to bring us back to our hometown. This 2,000 yuan was put on our account to be paid later.
