Editor's note: Ms. Wu Yuqin was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Xilinhaote, Neimenggu Province. On December 25, 2003, policemen from the local 610 Office illegally arrested her at her home. She was persecuted to death that very night. After six rounds of negotiations initiated by her family, officials from the city's Party Standing Committee agreed to punish those six policemen and their bosses who were responsible for Wu's death. Wu's family also received thirty-five thousand yuan as compensation. On January 8, 2004, Wu's body was cremated under close monitoring by the police.

The following is what Wu Yuqin shared with her fellow practitioners prior to her death:
I lived in a remote area on the prairie where there was little healthcare or medicine available. We had no easy access to public transportation. My health condition was poor, as I suffered from chronic symptoms after childbirth as well as insomnia, anemia, arthritis, and heart disease. I often felt dizzy. I started to practice Falun Dafa at the beginning of 1999. In two months, my illnesses were gone and I could once again do household chores. My family was very happy.
Later we moved to a suburban area. Suddenly, the persecution of Falun Dafa started. Some people who used to practice Dafa were afraid of being persecuted, so they tore up Dafa books and burned them. However, after they saw words in the books rotating, they then stopped burning them. When I heard they were going to destroy Dafa books, I went to talk to them and bought the books from them. I hid the books carefully. My family was very worried. They forbade me from practicing Dafa, so I went outside to practice the exercises in our yard at night. Many mosquitoes bit me, but all the welts would be gone by the next morning.
I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in 2001. At Tiananmen Square, the other fellow practitioners were all illegally arrested, but I managed to escape arrest using my wisdom. Later, I returned to the Square and held up a banner that read, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." I also shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" It seemed that none of the policemen heard me. A senior passerby said to me, "Get in! Hurry up!" I then realized that there was a taxi parked right beside me. I folded up the banner and got in the taxi. I clarified the truth to the driver. He said, "Go back to your home. They are searching for and arresting Falun Gong practitioners all over Beijing. It's too dangerous for you to stay here!"
After I went home, I started to visit my old classmates to explain to them the facts behind the persecution of Dafa. My family raised a few cows and we sold dozens of gallons of fresh cow's milk everyday. I would take any chance to clarify the truth to the buyers. My family members were frightened that we would be persecuted because of this, so they beat me to try to get me to quit telling others about Dafa. Afterwards, my eye swelled up, so I couldn't see clearly. However, nothing could stop me from clarifying the truth.
One day in March of 2002, some officers came and illegally searched our home. They even searched our child's socks. They didn't find anything. Still they forcibly took me away and illegally detained me at a police substation. I started a hunger strike to protest. They interrogated me three times but didn't get anything out of me. Eighty-one hours later, I walked out of that den of evil with dignity.
(Note: Wu Yuqin did a lot of outstanding deeds to clarify the truth. The above is just a part of her story that she shared with us.)
