(Clearwisdom.net) As Fa-rectification rapidly moves forward, all of us feel the urgency and we know that Consummation is imminent. We are trying harder to do well in the three things Teacher requires of us; however, I feel that many of our practitioners have the mentality of "just getting by" in ordinary society. Their thinking is along the lines of, "we are approaching Consummation, and we won't have anything to do with ordinary people after we reach Consummation. So, as long as we can get by, we don't need too much money or to aspire to high positions in the government or our private-sector jobs, because they are a waste of time for us practitioners; they are unnecessary."
I used to have strong bouts of similar thoughts, but I realized that this is an attachment. I found that other practitioners also have understandings similar to mine, so I wanted to write them down and share them with fellow practitioners. Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003,"
"If tomorrow is Consummation, today you still won't know it, and suppose you're thinking about opening a business, then just go ahead and do it. But I'll harmonize everything for you. Don't think about anything! Just do whatever you're supposed to do."
I think we should not be "just getting by as best we can" in terms of quality of life. Many practitioners have a low standard of living; if we don't care about the quality of our lives, we may leave ordinary people with a wrong impression. Moreover, Dafa work also requires funds. I think we should conduct business as usual and handle opportunities well for promotions in our workplace. We can help each other out in terms of work, business and life in general. Because we are Dafa practitioners, when we try hard to do well while not being attached to recognition or fortune, we will do better than ordinary people and will naturally gain better results.
If we expand our business or obtain higher-ranking positions in the government or private sectors, that means we would have more contact with ordinary people; it also means opportunities for us to offer them salvation. Our truth clarification, including our words and actions, would influence them; isn't that a great thing?
Of course, we should not be attached to money and we should not let our pursuit of a livelihood get in the way of the three things we are supposed to do. At the same time, we should also realize that Dafa practitioners' poverty is very likely the arrangement of the old forces, which we should negate.
The above is my shallow understanding. Fellow practitioners, please benevolently point out anything inappropriate.
