1. [Chongqing City, Sichuan Province] Facts of Persecution suffered by Zhang Peijin
Mr. Zhang Peijin, 43, was an accountant at the Ninth People's Hospital in Beibei District, Chongqing City. In November 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was escorted back to Beibei District for a two month detention. In April 2000, he was forced to attend a brainwashing session for one month. In July 2000, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor in Xishanping of Beibei District. After the forced labor term, he returned to his work but was followed by police and harassed many times. In May 2004, Mr. Zhang had to leave his home in order to avoid the police harassment and has since become homeless to avoid further persecution.
In August 2004, Mr. Zhang Peijin and Mr. Wang Guanglin (in his 30s, a teacher at the Thirteenth High School of Beibei District) were arrested together. They went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and were forcibly given intravenous injections. They became so weak that they lapsed into comas several times. Fearing responsibility for possible deaths, after October 1 the authorities allowed Mr. Zhang's family to take him home on bail and wait for the trial.
In December 2004, Mr. Zhang Peijin was tried and sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. He was sent to the Yongchuan Prison right after the trial. He is now being detained in the Eighth Subsection of the Fourth Section in Yongchuan Prison, where he suffers inhumane torture and cannot even walk without other people's help.
2. [Laiwu City, Shangdong Province] Zhang Xue Illegally Detained
Ms. Zhang Xue, 29, learned Falun Gong in 1997. She lives in Xiaqiguan Village of Laiwu City, Shandong Province. In December 2004, Ms. Zhang was illegally arrested and detained in a local detention center in Weifang City. During the detention, because she held a hunger strike to protest the detention, she was affixed to a bed by the police. Later, she was sent to the hospital for treatment. When she was sent to Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp, the authorities refused to take her. She was then transferred to Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp. Her sentence of forced labor was issued in 2002.
In 2001, the local police took Ms. Zhang Xue to a brainwashing class. But she managed to escape and left her home to avoid further persecution. In the spring of 2002, she was arrested while delivering Falun Gong materials to a fellow practitioner. She was then sentenced to three years of forced labor. Upon being sent to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp, a doctor diagnosed her with severe heart disease. Therefore the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp refused to take her. She was then sent to a brainwashing center in Xiaoyi of Laiwu City, where she started a hunger strike in protest. After more than 20 days she managed to escape through a window, along with two other fellow practitioners. She then became homeless to avoid being illegally arrested.
3. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Liu Hong Illegally Sentenced to Forced Labor
At around 9 o'clock on the morning of March 10, 2005, Linghai City police broke into Ms. Liu Hong's home and arrested her. She was later sentenced to three years of forced labor.
4. [Zhenping County, Henan Province] Wang Chuanyan Illegally Detained
Dr. Wang Chuanyan, in her 50s, was the doctor of the Second High School in Zhenping County. In March 2005, she was arrested for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. She is currently detained in the Zhenping County Detention Center.

5. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Wang Lianxiang and Five Other Practitioners Arrested in Lushunkou District
Ms. Wang Lianxiang, Ms. Zhou Chunguang, Ms. Zhang Guixiang, Ms. Han Shuang, Mr. Li Jide, and Mr. Liu Renpu from Beihai Village, Lushunkou District of Dalian City, Liaoning Province were recently illegally arrested. Among these Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Wang Lianxiang's home was ransacked, and 1000 yuan and a wristwatch were confiscated. The homes of Mr. Li Jide and Ms. Zhou Chunguang were also ransacked and the property loss is unknown.
6. [Beijing] Wang Bin Couple Sentenced to Forced Labor in Chaoyang District, Their 10-Year-Old Child Left Unattended
In late-September 2004, Mr. Fang Bin from Chaoyang District of Beijing was arrested and sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor. It is the second time he has been sentenced to a forced labor camp. His wife, Ms. Feng Yunqing, was also sentenced to three years of forced labor in 2003 for the second time. At present, Mr. Fang Bin's 10-year-old child is left at home without parental care.
7. [Shanghai] Xu Jianxin Tortured in the Third Labor Camp of Shanghai
Mr. Xu Jianxin, about 50 years old, lives in the Minhang District of Shanghai. In September 2004, the 610 Office of Minhang District and the Nation Security Bureau arrested him and sentenced him to one year of forced labor. In March 2005, he was transferred to and tortured in the Third Labor Camp in Shanghai.
8. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Zhang Liping Detained Beyond Term by the Third Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Liping, who is in her 30s, was arrested in 2001 and detained in the Third Detention Center of Changchun City. She is still detained there.

9. [Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of Cui Yun from Daqing Petrolium Third Factory
On April 20, 2005, Ms. Cuiyun, an employee of the Third Factory of Petrolium in Daqing City, was arrested at her home by the local branch of the Public Security Bureau.
10. [Heilongjiang Province] Zhang Shuzhi Sent to Harbin City Women's Prison for Persecution
On April 20, 2005, Ms. Zhang Shuzhi was arrested and secretly sent to the Harbin City Women's Prison.
11. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Li Zuoqing Arrested Illegally
At 8 o'clock on April 16, 2005, Shen Tao, chief of the Political Security Section of the Laixi City Public Security Bureau, together with Qiao Shoufu, chief of the Police Station of Liquan Township in Laixi City, led officers from the Laixi City 610 Office and policemen from the Liquan Village Police Station to break into Mr. Li Zuoqing's home in Xili Village of Liquan Township. They forcibly arrested Mr. Li and confiscated his Falun Gong books and Nine Commentaries books. Now Mr. Li Zuoqing is detained and tortured in the Laixi City Detention Center.
