1. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Yu Jianping and Other Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested by the Police
On June 21, 2005, the Nanchang City police launched a sudden arrest campaign of Falun Gong practitioners in Nanchang City. Afterwards the police ransacked the practitioners' homes.
Of the practitioners arrested, Ms. Yu Jianping, 53, is a retired employee of an enterprise in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. At 8:00 p.m. on June 21, 2005, several policemen from the Xihu Criminal Police Team in Nanchang City illegally searched her home and abducted her. Her whereabouts is currently unknown.
Other practitioners arrested at the same time include Ms. Zuo Xixi, Mr. Liu Yongying, Mr. Xia Zhongsheng and Ms. Cai Jinxiang. They are all residents of Xinjiang County, Nanchang City.
2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Hongcheng of Taihe District Arrested Again
At 9:00 a.m. on June 23, 2005, police officers led by Li Zuo, the director of the Xinglong Police Substation of Jinzhou City, arrested Mr. Li Hongcheng, who lives in Yuji Town, Taihe District, Liaoning Province. They sent Mr. Li Hongcheng directly to the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
Mr. Li Hongcheng was previously arrested by the same group of policemen on July 2, 2004. He held a hunger strike for 13 days at the detention center. He was released after he was tortured nearly to death.
3. [Hebei Province] Practitioner Wang Gang's Legs Amputated at Baoding Jail
Mr. Wang Gang is currently imprisoned at Baoding Jail. On June 3, 2005, when the police discovered that Mr. Wang Gang was doing the Falun Gong exercises, Fan Jianli and Ran Lin, the section chiefs for the Political Section of the Baoding Jail, led by several other policemen, beat Mr. Wang Gang, breaking his legs. Mr. Wang Gang was transferred to a hospital in Beijing since his legs did not heal. On June 20, when Mr. Wang Gang was returned to the jail, his legs were amputated.
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Mr. Liu Youqing Jailed at Detention Center
Mr. Liu Youqing from Wuhan City was reported to the police when he was giving out truth-clarifying materials with fellow practitioners on the afternoon of June 17, 2005. Police from the Hanyang Public Security Sub-bureau arrested him. The Jianghan Er'qiao Police Substation sent him to the Dongxihu Er'zhigou Detention Center of Wuhan City, where no one is permitted to visit him.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Huang Fen Illegally Arrested at her Workplace
Ms. Huang Fen, who is in her 50s, is an employee of the China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute. On June 2, 2005, when Ms. Huang was working, she was arrested by the Fangcao Street Neighborhood Committee of Chengdu City and sent to the Xinjin Brainwashing Class. Ms. Huang Fen had previously been arrested in March 2004 and persecuted at the Pi County Detention Center. Six months later, she left the detention center with righteous thoughts.
6. [An'qiu City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Qiuhua Imprisoned in a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhang Qiuhua, 57, is a resident of Beilijia Village, Guanzhuang Town, An'qiu City, Shandong Province. Since she is determined in cultivating Dafa, the police frequently harass her. In October 2004, the police from An'qiu ransacked Ms. Zhang's home, arrested her, and took her to the detention center. Over twenty days later, Ms. Zhang Qiuhua left the detention center using righteous thoughts. In order to extort more money, the police searched Ms. Zhang Qiuhua's home at the end of December that same year. They then arrested Ms. Zhang and took her to the Weifang Brainwashing Class, intending to extort thirty thousand yuan as ransom from her family. Since Ms. Zhang Qiuhua does not have that kind of money, she is presently imprisoned and tortured at the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp.
7. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Local Police Arrest Practitioner Ms. Guo Danxia
On the evening of June 22, 2005, the local police arrested Yueyang City resident, Ms. Guo Danxia when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in Wujiang Town, Yueyang County. She is currently imprisoned at the Yueyang County Detention Center.
8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Weigao from Yinan County Sentenced to Two Years in a Forced Labor Camp
At around 6:00 p.m. on January 24, 2005, of the lunar Calendar, the Yinan County 610 Office of Lanshan District, Linyi City, arrested Mr. Wang Weigao in Ai'yuhu Village of Shuanghou Town, Yinan County, Linyi City, Shandong Province. The 610 Office extorted 1800 yuan from Mr. Wang. He is currently imprisoned at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province after being given a two-year sentence.
9. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Zherong and Other Practitioners Arrested
At 2:00 p.m. on June 21, 2005, the police arrested Falun Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Liu Zherong, who is in her 60s, from Benxi City, Liaoning Province. The practitioners were on their way to clarify the truth at the time of their arrests.
