Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Yan from Yantai was arrested several times after Jiang started the persecution and she was severely tortured. In 2003, she was sentenced to 9 years and imprisoned in the Shandong Women Prison. The persecution has resulted in a life-threatening situation as three blood clots have developed in her liver.

Tian Zongfu from Guizhou Province Was Stabbed on the Back and Fingers

Mr. Tian Zongfu, from Shibing County, Kaili, Guizhou Province was detained due to his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." He held a hunger strike for 10 days and was released on bail for hospitalization. However, in less than a month, the police arrested him again and sentenced him to 3 years in the Zhongba labor camp, where he was tortured and stabbed with a needle on his back and fingers. His fingers became disfigured due to infection, and he passed out from the pain. After he woke up, the warden struck his forehead, stomped on his legs with his leather shoes on and hit his feet, causing them to swell.

The 610 Office Persecuted Ms. Li Yulin of Zhulu County, Hebei Province

When Ms. Li Yulin of Zhulu, Hebei, was clarifying the truth on a roadside, a student reported her to the police. She was detained at the Dongxiaozhuang Village police station, and was tortured there. The police seized her hair and punched her mouth, which made her teeth become loose. She passed out twice during the torture. After being sent to the county detention center, she was body searched. She suffered from shock and was also injected with unknown drugs. On June 16, Ms. Li passed out again. She was only released after her family paid the ransom that the jail demanded.

Persecution Examples in the Jinchuan Group Corporation, Gansu Province

There are 16 to 17 Dafa practitioners in the power factory of the Jinchuan Group Corp.

Gansu Province. They have been persecuted to various extents since July 20, 1999. The CCP committee, union, and security department actively participated in their persecution. On July 19, 1999, the leaders of the factory gathered all of the practitioners together to force them to renounce Falun Dafa. Those who persisted in their practice were detained on site. Toward the end of 1999, practitioner Mr. Li Bo was sent back from Beijing for going there to appeal for justice for Falun Gong, and was detained for 15 days. The authorities from the factory deprived him of his post in the work place and put him on a one-year probation. After he went to Beijing for the second time, he was detained for 15 days again and was sent to a brainwashing center. He was later dismissed from the factory. He escaped but was later arrested in Shandong and was sentenced to 3 years in prison. After he was released he became homeless to avoid recapture.

Practitioner Ms. Guo Hong was detained when she appealed for Dafa in Jinchuan. She was captured in Tianshui while on her way to Beijing and was sent to a brainwashing center. Later she was transferred to the Longshou Police Station, where she was severely tortured. The local court sentenced her to 9 years in prison.

The authorities from the factory harassed practitioners Xu Yong and Wei Xiufang several times and fired them from their jobs.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Jinping was sent to a brainwashing center because she appealed for Dafa, and was forced to retire before she reached the legal retirement age.

Practitioner Mr. Wu Kaili was arrested because he was distributing truth clarification materials and the court sentenced him later. His wife Ms. Zhao Fenglian was also detained in the Jinchuan Detention Center for the same reason, and was secretly sentenced to 4 years in prison.
