(Clearwisdom.net) In 2005 alone, there were eight practitioners in Li County, Hebei Province who were subjected to persecution. Zhao Guo was illegally sentenced to three years in prison; Yan Xiaoge was sentenced to one year in forced labor camp; Xie Ali and Cui Xiaogui were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. On December 7, 2005, the local police ransacked the homes of practitioner Zhu Xiaozhan and his non-practitioner son. The local 610 Office directors Wang Jianying and Xu Yonggang were the ones behind the scene, planning the persecution.
They did not have a search warrant or an arrest warrant, yet they broke into these citizen's homes and ransacked them at will. What was their purpose?
According to a person working in the county government, "Wang Jianying said, 'The New Year is coming but we have a very tight budget. When we catch Falun Gong practitioners, we don't release them until their families pay us a fine." Wang Jianying and Xu Yonggang often urged County Deputy Party Secretary Ning Hongmao to order the police department to arrest practitioners. Wang and Xu wanted to extort money from practitioners and their families. Former 610 Office directors Zhang Chunliang and Niu Haifeng did exactly the same thing, extorting a large amount of money from practitioners.
Xu Yonggang also insisted on sending a practitioner's family member who is not a practitioner to a labor camp. He and Dian Lihui called the Baoding Labor Camp three times asking them to take in a practitioner who requested to have his illegally withheld wages returned.
