(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of November 10, 2006, rumors were spreading in Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. The city government was not able to resolve a violent revolt by students and residents and blamed Falun Gong for the incident in their report to the higher government levels. On November 11, 2006, it was reported that many police officials and government workers were spreading rumors that Falun Gong had provoked the incident. A middle aged lady told this reporter that the captain of the Guang'an City police brigade of personally told her that Falun Gong would be framed for this incident.
This whole incident started when a four-year-old boy in Guang'an City accidentally ingested chemicals from fertilizer and was taken to the No.2 People's Hospital of Guang'an City by his grandfather. The boy needed to have his stomach pumped and the grandfather was informed that it would cost 800 Yuan. Since the grandfather carried only 100 Yuan, the hospital refused to perform the procedure, although the old man told the doctors that he would fetch more money.
The boy died while on an intravenous drip.
Later, the boy's mother demanded that the hospital pay her a compensation of 30,000 Yuan, but the hospital agreed only to pay her 500 Yuan as a form of "ethical compensation".
On November 10, 2006, the mother went to the City Hall to appeal this decision but was beaten by security personnel. Some students from Friendship High School witnessed the incident and tried to stop the beating.
In an ensuing fracas with government officials, the students were beaten too.
On the evening of November 10, 2006, the city government did not bother to provide an explanation or compensate the students. The angry students rushed into the the Guang'an City No.2 People's Hospital and destroyed some property, including doors and windows. In return, the city government ordered armed police to suppress the students by force.
The government's reaction caused the local people to mount a violent response. In the conflict, three police cars were burned, more than three persons including high school students, were beaten to death, several dozens of people were injured, and more than a hundred, including bystanders, were arrested. The incident spiraled out of control. Increasing numbers of angry people joined the revolt and surrounded the hospital.
Higher levels of government needed to be informed about the incident. The local Guang'an City government was not able to get the situation under control and falsified their report to their government superiors, saying that Falun Gong adherents were behind the trouble.
Next, a special investigative team from the province government came to Guang'an City. On November 11, armed police reinforcements were transferred here to deal with the protesters. The broken doors and windows were quickly repaired. The local TV station falsely reported that there had been no conflict, nobody was hurt, nobody died, not a single student was missing, and all the students were calmly at their classes in school. It was also reported that the 4-year-old boy died only because he had been taken to the hospital too late and the hospital had done its best to try to revive the boy. After watching this news report, the local people became very angry that the government was openly and shamelessly spreading lies.
People realized that the government was being deceptive when they heard the rumors that Falun Gong was supposedly behind the troubles. There are several obvious reasons for the government to frame Falun Gong: 1. The city officials are able to avoid responsibility. 2. It provides an excuse for their own violent suppression of the people's complaints. 3. Their government superiors would be willing to accept this explanation. 4. The city government will not be held responsible for the death of Falun Gong practitioners, an officially sanctioned policy.
From this incident, people learned about the deceptive, criminal and vicious nature of the Chinese communist government and recognized that they are counting on lies and violence to maintain their control.
